Many reasons.
Bad teeth in general, lack of education about mouth hygiene (I remember those massive teeth models and teeth brushes the size of a club), "do not care lol" and the general high consumption amount of sweet things.
Obesity also can be a thing that could lead to having cavities, as well as other medical conditions. For when people have lost their hold on life that they even cannot brush their teeth regularly, let alone manage to get out of bed.

I remember when my wisdom teeth got cavities.
Hurt like hell.
Dentist pulled them out.
Hurt like hell, too. And some stitches in my mouth.
I ate porridge for a week.

I love how the comment section is getting very educational.
Also, this reminds me of Gintama. No matter how tough guys are, they're always afraid to go to the dentist XD

@Freezee
Thanks for the reminder.
I can't remember how my eating and brushing habits were when I was younger but nowadays, I brush twice a day, floss and rinse with mouthwash but I had to learn them the hard way after the dentist visits.

My family is not a big fan of sodas or sugary drinks but we do snack a bit. My dad is diabetic so we watch our eating habits. In comparison, my other siblings don't have cavities but they do less in terms of dental care so it might be my genetics lottery 😩

Cavities can be classified into 4 stages. The 4th stage is the most painful one where the decay reaches the tooth pulp.

I got two stage 1 cavities waiting to be filled but I’m just postponing them cause i fucking hate needles

"WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!"
Oh that, he was holding on to a pole and was forcefully pulled off and smashed to the ground. Also, the ground had cracks now.
