Looks like they usually upload in Thai, that's probably why a sudden English release needs approval, the unavailable chapters thing certainly is annoying, but I understand why they do it, the chapter spammers that went rampart last year where twice as annoying, as they'd upload dozens of fake chapters trying to promote their own website, website that, mind you, was filled to the brim with spyware and ads, the day or so of an unavailable chapter is worth the trade off IMO, as it is by far the lesser of two evils.

I don't see why people make a big deal about sniping in the first place, no one has "rights" to any of these manga, we can't forget we're all pirates, I feel like the whole snipping topic is needless drama, but then again, I'm not a scantilator, so who cares what I think 😅
So what if someone else put out a chapter before you, I'm sure different groups prioritize speed over quality and vise versa, as do readers, if all you care about is speed, you'll read whatever comes first, if you want quality, you'll stick to the groups whose work you are familiar with and like, just IMO, feel free to disagree.

@Loli_Omamoritai if people are willing to read manga elsewhere, they probably already are, like the licensed chapters that you can't upload here or the chapters deleted from last year's drama, I for one had actually stopped reading manga for years until MD came along, I don't mind waiting for it to pop up here or waiting for the delays some groups put on their chapters, it allows me to keep this hobby organized enough to fit it into the life of a working adult, I only ever go elsewhere when I've confirmed that it will not be on MD at all, but hey, everyone will look for whatever works best for them.

I mean like the translation group's reader site.
I always upload to my own site first (it still need edit, proofread, etc.)
I post the link in MD comment and ask readers who are willing to proofread.

I won't upload it unless someone who is good at English gives it an "Okay".
That's how I avoid comment-war nowadays.

But of course, it's "okay" won't make it "perfect", I'm always ready to fix again.

@Loli_Omamoritai oh, I get what you mean now, I was referring to people who were trying to get people onto their site for ad revenue and such, it was honestly annoying, but what you're doing seems fine IMO, it's like crowd sourcing PRs.

Personally just glad to not see the past fakechapter spams by various aggregators here.. (And a bunch of not-so praiseworthy groups.)
Brief "unavailable" like this on a few actual uploads, from users that never uploaded in the language before, is a very cheap price to pay in comparison.

As for 'sniping' drama..
Might be that I just missed most of that sort, but the bits I've seen mostly involved the same groups that left MD for various poorly made-up reasons already.
(Personally loved that 'we deleted all our translations and blocked uploading of our translations on MD because we dislike how we can't delete or block uploads of our translations on MD' excuse.)
Except for those, most people seem open for discussion about how to cooperate/split work or generally how they'll go forward from then on.

Unrestricted spam vs this nonsense is a false dilemma, normal sites don't show unapproved data to users until it's approved and actually viewable. It's especially annoying that users aren't notified when the chapters become available. edit: apparently not true

@Kapow You are notified whenever a chapter undergoing moderation is approved. It gets sent back into the front page and the top spot of your Follows list just like a normal update.
