@cybik you know that there's absolutely nothing implying that she's become a housewife, right? If you're gonna make that assumption, it's just as likely that the dude is now a househusband and the wife is the one still working, since neither of them have been shown to be working (except at Wifey Corp. of course). Please don't try to twist this wholesome fluff story into a political statement.

@Doodads panel 1, chapter 1: "Welcome home" and the dude's in full suit, while she's already in "home gear". And she found something in the closet already - meaning she's been home for a while.

Already in ch1, there are hints that I'm right about the kind of dynamic that I'm assuming was established for this (unbearably fluffy) continuation of the story. (or is SenpaiTiny a prequel?)

Mind you, if there's ever anything in this storyline that proves me wrong, I will gladly eat my words.

And, for the record: I'm not doing a political statement, weirdly enough. There's a BUNCH of stuff going on in my head and it'd take at least 3 blog posts to lay down why this _very specific_ detail of this manga displeases me just a wee bit. I enjoy this fluff, this manga, this story and this "universe" as a whole, but lest I be accused of Kazumaing, I think I'm allowed to disagree on aspects of a story. (Also this is a discussion forum where people are supposed to be allowed to, you know, discuss)

This is too wholesome and cute to even be legal. Diabetes spreading faster than the speed of light.

Imagine getting frustrated a fictional couple is living a fufilling life and instead wanting them to live their life the way you want it instead of their happiness as of now because you think your viewpoint is politically correct and that you can "write 3 blogposts" about it.

Just like you said you can disagree with it and voice your opinions, but so can everyone else who wants to disagree with you. So don't try to act so smug about it.

If this manga bothers you a bit but somehow your willing to write "3 blog posts" aboht it then their is a plethora of pretty good manga out there with couples that work like Wotakoi that you can read instead.

@Vinh 3 blog posts just to summarize my viewpoint and why (and that my head is beyond noisy), not about this manga :p

(and if you had been a betting person and put money on me being a Wotakoi reader, you'd have won)

Super-abirdged version of what ticks me, if anyone cares:
Media, in any shape it takes (novelas, light novels, written media of any kind, animated media, movies, hell, even the news), ultimately does its part to either influence change in, or reinforce currently-in-place, cultural norms, whereever it's being consumed. The specific nit I have is that, unfortunately, culturally, many media forms will default to the "Standard Gender Roles" that are commonplace at the time they are being authored
which, btw, Japan was WAY ahead of the west until we went in and screwed things up, if memory serves
. Only a few dare not care about it and either show or at the very least acknowledge the existence of alternate variants to the "Classic Mode"; that rarity (to an extent) in turn really doesn't encourage global (and local) culture to progress to a point where people can actually *choose* a one-stays-at-home-and-one-goes-to-work setup instead of being forced into it. Yes, I'm REALLY nitty about it, but unless media in all its forms at the very least acknowledges that SAHM is not the default, it reinforces the status quo, which in many places results in social pressure.

All of this being a slightly big nit about how the manga is set up, doesn't really negate the fact that omfg this manga is fluffy and I like it.

@Cybik that viewpoint is extremely sexist tbh

who's to say that a father won't leave for his kids at the drop of a hat as well?

@olivetho exactly.

More headspace:
I know I would. I know many of my friends who would. But at a "society" level, there are still too many in positions of power that will assume that women would drop everything because babbies and thus shouldn't be considered for higher positions. It's insulting, really.
