I can't help but feel these events should've been drip fed over the course of an arc or perhaps have the stakes a little lower. We just found out that there are variants, then that certain gods manifest as variants and now we have MC's family being related to one of those manifest gods and the japanese illuminati controlling everything as well. Huge titty nordic GF has barely been developed as well.

I should be glad this arc isn't overstaying it's welcome since it just started going at a million miles an hour but what of the next arc? And the one after that.

Note: Yashimajinumi was Susanoo and Kushinada's only son, who is a god/deity in his own right.
I don't know if the author uses names as symbolism that each character carries, but if I guessed correctly, Futaba's name in kanji is 双葉 which is 'twin-leaves' which basically is 2 leaves on a single stem - which might point to Futaba also bearing another soul in her being.

They are biologically unrelated, she was the daughter of the neighbors, who was taken in when her parents went missing, and then his parents disappeared too.

The novels spend a lot more time with Susanoo, he gets to dump a lot more exposition. He basically says that after he and Kushinada came through as Variants they learned to control their violent urges and live almost as humans, like vegan vampires, and eventually even tried having a kid but then the humans killed her.
