You know how in China, millions of women checked the sex of the uterus, and aborted girls? Now they have a statistically significant surplus of males in their 20s and 30s.

Perhaps abortions are strictly banned in the 1:39 world.
Getting pregnant is very rare, even with in vitro fertilization. So, abortion must be illegal.

Sou is at most 5 years older than Sakura since he's in high school and she's in junior high school. He'd have to be some kind of incredibly disappointing 4-year-old hellion for Akane to attempt a re-roll so quickly. Some toddlers are, for sure, but I doubt Akane ever considered him a burden regardless of how he acted.
That's true somehow thought in a other time frame...

So either Akane wanted try her luck and roll the gacha again for more BOY

Or

When Sou was 4 years and still untainted by the lusty beasts, He wanted a younger sibling and asked for one.
Could Akane say no to that is the question then.
It's possible that she wanted to try for another boy, but I think it's more likely that she just loves all her kids and wanted one more. The Satou girls do have a pretty good relationship with each other even if Sakura roasts sumire now and then, so I think it's fair to say Akane is a good mom (as far as that world goes).
Now I would really like to see a real spin off following Akane and Sumore before Sou's birth and the family after. It would also be greay to see what happened to the original Sou and why he had such a bad relationship with his family.

This chapter revelation does give some insight to Miku, Yuri and Hinata's family situations, come to think of it.

With how boys in the families are prioritized among the other siblings, the other siblings probably got neglected as the result. Thus Hinata's "good girl and friendly to the boys" persona might be the result of neglection and her trying to be independent due to her mom focusing on the lil' bro (and impliedly not in a good way). Similiarly with Miku, her big booba and taller than average figure probably made the mom prefer the other sisters than her. And for Yuri, her being an only child made her mom worried about the future thus the insistence to enroll her to Konoe Gakuen so she can earn a lot of money and possibly find a man of her own.

Well, this is just my theory so I might be wrong, but I like to peek inside the creator's head for their works because it's fun.

I was already complaining out loud about another chapter wasted on Suzuki shenanigans instead of our girls, then based author drops more world building, chapter saved.

If anything this goes to show that Akane is different, she had her children out of love and is a real good mother to them, but not everyone is like that and this world really is skewed in some not so good ways as well, and that's what shocked Sou, he has come to take for granted having a warm loving family, his reaction is not just isekai cultural shock as one might surmise, remember that he did not have much of a family before arriving here.

Akane-mama does give Sou-chan special treatment but it's for a vastly different reason. :meguusmug:

Funny enough, that's pretty normalized in a few cultures IRL.

That what I want to know about Sou's Mom. How much income does she make and the cost of living in this world? She has 3 kids and works as a manager in an office, so it can be assumed she is successful.
Plus she gets a big subsidy for having Sou, and I assume it's for as long as he's alive.

This does also have implications that there are people would just keep trying to have sons instead of daughters and would just neglect everyone else in favor of him. i also do not like the implications of when the gender of the baby is revealed before its born. This world building is honestly amazing.
Funny you mention that. My wife's family is from China and she grew up during the One Child Policy era.

She tells me that as a consequence of that era, OBGYNs as a rule do not reveal the gender of the child.

Yeah, that's the funny thing people forget, the female characters aren't idiots, except with Sou. The guard students Sou surrounds himself with are pretty much top of the class and has undergone training to specifically deal with males. But just like irl, horny makes people lose IQ points.

But I guess the implementation with Sou having a little sister is maybe Sou was an asshole pre amnesia.

Early chapters implied that original Sou was probably traumatized at the "collection center". Given what was implied I don't blame him.

Again in an earlier chapter Akane states that while she does get a big subsidy, she still wanted to set a good example of a working adult. I think it was around the time of the semen collection for this version of Sou.

You operate under pretense of naturally conceive pregnancies, that nay impossible in this world. Chapter 18 tell us that she got sperm donation aka artificial insemination(impregnation), which allowed to chose gender of a child. And since the same chapter reveal existence of "Parenting Supporting School" coupled with global problems there is, probably, requirements and limitations for having a man in family.
Like having high academic abilities or passing special tests. And limiting males per family.
Artificial insemination doesn't allow for choosing the gender.

That'd require the ability to see which sperm cells had Y chromosomes and if it were possible to choose for a boy or a girl, a 1:39 world wouldn't exist in the first place.

I aint no feminist , but it has to be pretty fucked up being a girl in this world not gonna lie.
Men have been abducted and enslaved in this world, according to early chapters.

Men do not go outside alone, they have to have their sisters and mother guarding them.

Most men stay indoors out of fear of women.

Men have to donate sperm at a center where if they can't perform, they're extracted.

Yes child neglect is bad but there's more stacked against men in this story, especially since the mother who's paying all that attention to the son has a good chance of grooming him to be her husband.

That is a very interesting question that I never thought of, why did Akane keep rolling the baby gacha, it's not like she could increase sou's NP level.

There are plenty of women in our world that do the same thing just with yaoi.
There was one of those 1:X ratio stories I read that exposed most women are pretty lonely since they fail to find romantic love and their adult life ends up uneventful and empty, so they turn to the familial love they had when they were still daughters living with their single mothers, eventually having multiple children because of that.
The PoV we got from Akane early in the story was rather TOO happy with Sou, to the point she says she liked him even when he was detached. She doesn't strike me as a woman ''rolling for a man'' but one that was seeking a family.

Furthermore men grow being taught by their own families that women are dangerous and shouldn't be trusted. While Sou's little sister didn't want him to end up detached again, the older sister and his mother said they were willing to be hated for his protection. If anyone is hammered that in his head since childhood and then had to periodically donate his semen it'd make sense he'd start becoming bitter eventually.
We forget since all the women in this guard academy are harmless and faint for a few seconds of contact, but the fact that there IS a Guard Academy to begin with has heavy connotations
