I enjoyed this manga a lot. It was fun and I liked the concept and execution, but I can see why a japanese audience wouldn't have developed enough for it to continue.

Hopefully the author's other work has more success - it doesn't hit all the same notes. but there's the same novelty of obscure-ish medieval factoids.

Well, I became sad when I read that it was a short 2-volume serialization from the very beginning. It was mentioned in some chapter, maybe the end of volume one. I'm surprised that other commenters are such inattentive.
I didn't want the girls to die in their eras. Thus, I am really really glad that this epilogue is so wholesome. This was a fun read.
And I'm also not unhappy that romcom arc was cut out. It's better this way.
