I love how mundane was MC's departure from his original party.

Rival - "No, you are weak."

I know the usual trope: rival will regret later on and will try to screw the MC's party, but this exchange was amusing to me.

And MC is lucky because these three girls are very pretty and cute, each one of them has potential to be top tier waifu.

I kinda expected him to be an older dude, but he's just 20. So his harem is introduced immediately after leaving the party. So far there's nothing particularly remarkable about this considering "kicked out/banished" fantasy stories are now a dime a dozen these days. Let's see if that will change...

Ugh, this is part of what makes Log Horizon so good. The writer understands the need for different classes to compliment each other in a party (and must know his stuff well as he made game I would really like to play).

In most of this type of story, it's just...dumb. The need for classes working together still exists and is understood, but then they kick out or shun a class from their party and suddenly it's such a big shock when they have trouble. At least this isn't one of those stories in which they kick out the white mage and then are shocked that they're getting their asses kicked.

Chapter 2 says he's only been doing this for 5 years, so I'm not sure where you got 20 years as red mage from. Maybe you're confusing this for another red mage MC manga?

It's later revealed in Ch. 10, page 8 that Rain is the same age as him (so she's 20 as well and older than the other girls) and knowing that they're the same age is part of what drives her closer to him.

Ah right lol, sorry me dumb.

What led me to believe that was page 36, where he said he was underestimated for 20 years.

Aside from the story feels like it implies that he's older than the girls since he's a veteran that taught them stuffs, I didn't think he actually count being a baby as his "being underestimated" phase because of how ridiculous that sounds.

Edit: Also I guess I miss or forgot that part from chapter 2.
