the series was at its best when it was our villainess plotting and deflecting accusations but the battle finale wasn't quite it. I did like how it ended with her building a third path tho that's fun lmao.

So glad I decided to stack up chapters. Read through 21 - 33 in one sitting and with that pacing the ending was solid imo. If i had to wait for each release once the finale started would've been not so great I imagine.

For once, we see the supposed heroine turned villain get actually killed, no second chances and no risk of future problems. Also, with the sacred beast killing Mana not only Lunaria's hands remain clean, it could also be seen as a divine punishment.

On another note, does anyone know any titles in which an evil saintess has her powers taken away by the god of that universe? I'd like to see a proactive god that stops the evil from happening.

Also before that, since her "kind" oh so LOVE brainwashing people and see nothing wrong with that and using "Charm"

It's fitting she suffers the WORSE case of it! It's fun messing with people's minds and cognitive....till it's your turn! Not that she'll know since she thinks "she's a mere lowly servant of HERSELF" (Yeah I play Baldur's Gate 3, so finding out "What the Emperor" did to a certain noble really makes me LOATHE the concepts even MORE, especially when they try to JUSTIFY it, the ones using it that is!)

I think that Chounin A wa Akuyaku Reijou wo Doushitemo Sukuitai ~Dobu to Sora to Koori no Himegimi~/Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!" has something ABIT like what you asked! Though don't know about Gods, but the "Saintess" in that one abuses her powers and gifts and ends up devolving into a "Witch of Envy" she is ALSO a "Reincarnate" while ironically the "Villainess" becomes the new Saintess! The "Envy" makes sense, the chick was fucking WILD in that she actually WANTED the Villainess to suffer her "Gangraped and corrupted" bad end because "she deserved it for being a Villainess.....who got in her way because she was acting improper around her POS Fiancee" that and she turned UP the Charm! Except on MC the "Villager A in question" who intially she only tried to "Charm" to have more "peons" till she found out he was a reincarnate to, and they became enemies when he TRIED to convince her as a "Fellow Japanese" to help him avert the bad end and she didn't care, even wanted him to DESPAIR at failing because "it got in the way of HER happy ending" which no it really didn't as it's hinted the PRINCE and Harem endings end in ALOT of death and destruction for everyone BUT the fools who caused it, but she didn't care "she deserved her harem!"

She didn't really LOSE her Charm till the end, however I do believe she lost it fighting the Villainess who became the NEW Saintess (The Villainess has a "Lady Knight" look to her, so when she was broken and turned evil in the "OG Story" she looked like a Evil Blackguard! But in the Manga right now, the sword that was meant to turn her evil is purified and tied to her, so I think the writers are sticking to the idea, while I wouldn't be shocked if "The Saintess" is given a more "Evil Seductress Witch" look to her to show the difference! Especially since the OG Story was BULLSHIT in how much it GLOSSED OVER her and her Harems HORRIBLE actions and behavior! Even OG Version of her was STILL A MAN STEALER, and the Prince was still a POS even WITHOUT the charm which only made him WORSE!)

I do remember one manga, where a light king, removed the "protags" and gave it to the main character, however it got scrutinized, by making her dark skin white, so you could say it was whitewashing. And twitter took note of this.

Nice ending for Mana, I guess. Although I was a bit disappointed how subdued it was. A bit of blood wouldn't have been the end of the world (and it would reduce the likelyhood of her reappearing).

Relationships aside, the curse and the strange laws of this world are the only threads left. I'm a bit doubtful that this is enough to keep the second arc engaging, now that the core of the story "revenge" has been resolved.
