Caring and persuasion are two different things.

Yes, childhood friend cares, but she has 0 persuasion ability in this scenario since she already eliminated any chance of doing so herself.

Gender plays nothing here since the two are very much interchangeable.

Call the guy pathetic and whatnot but he just wants true happiness. He found it but his way of coping for the pent up negative emotion is very twisted thanks to the environment.

@GryphusOne Agreed. I still think the drama here is avoidable at this point. Seems like an arrangement could be worked out where the MC could spend alternating days or periods of time in a different place to recuperate if being physically exposed to his ghost GF is harmful over long periods. There are plenty of couples that have one member serving time in prison for example who communicate remotely and still have loving relationships.
