500,000 yen? She could spend that money in someone to go to her house like a chef or a cook; or go to a nice restaurant instead of risking the media to photograph her going into a dude's house and having to travel a lot. But oh well, guess this manga needs to start somehow.

Well, it's very clear food isn't the main reason. Her parents are practically missing in her life, and the housekeeper probably is just a professional that serves food and get out of the way when it's done. She wants someone at her side, and of course our protagonist is the lottery winner, for reasons.

... Is this not "homemade food made by someone else"? Does "homemade food" have a different meaing in Japan? I don't get it.
this manga interpreting "homemade meal" meaning a bit different. "Homemade meal" referred by her is something made by someone is precious to her. By means the housekeeper isn't someone who's precious to her.

It is that meaning you wrote, but at the same time she also wanted a human interaction. Being treated like someone else is lonely, she wanted to be a normal girl.

Both of parents working long hours to the point of not having a dinner with your child, the child may understand the importance of money but still feel lonely.

People who work afar or oversea too get homesick, with no one to confide their problems, often find something to substitute their loneliness.

Homemade meals may seems like a common dishes but to those people I mentioned, they find solace because "they have come home". This issue also apply to all countries.

Akw jg mw

Spoiler about her (mtl)
She's not your type of heroine wo will turn anything into a dark matter
She's not himeji-type who will make a decent food with lethal effect
She's not gintoki-type who will turn a sushi into a cocktail
In arc 4, she'll cook for him (she asks her mom to teach her how to cook)

Also the age gap is probably too uncomfortable for her
