Wars have been fought over a lot of foolish things. The fact that they happened does not follow that they ought to have happened.

To put it another way, what I'm commenting on is that the ML sounds greedy and out of touch, and it makes me worried about the direction the story is taking. I don't usually mind shoujo stories where the main characters are nobility, but this one seems to be going out of its way to advocate noblesse oblige to the audience, and I guess it is just rubbing me the wrong way. (This guy certainly is no Reinhard von Lohengramm.)

Now that you mention it, this story probably isn't for me, so I guess I'll just leave it be. Thanks for being thoughtful and considerate in responding all the same.
