For MD admins:

please ban and block forever all the groups who leaved because they want to gain money with clicks and hidden script on their websites, they aren't scanlators anymore but people who in business using other people works (mangaka).
These people are a true disgrace for the manga communities and give to publishers the perfect excuse to claim that scansub and downloads damage their profits since they gain money from their properties. These people aren't scansubbers anymore but just lamers.

Erase these people and never allow them to back here, misunderstandings or not they decide this and so be it now and beyond.

well, this days i feel pity with the mangadex staff.

just as some examples:
not banning those groups : community -> you are so lax, you support this missbehavior, you are evil!
banning those groups: community -> you behave like a dictator, those poor groups need a second chance, you are evil!
asked community to speak with those groups on their page: community-> You send readers to complain to the groups, you are evil.
Asked community not to speak with groups: community -> You are suppressing free speak and those groups, you are evil!

This examples could be longer but i think you get the idea.
LOL, yes the result would always be: mangadex staff is evil, whatever they do 😄

Huh? The thread is about which side the aggregator should empower, scanlator or reader. How the heck did you interpret it as scanlator vs aggregator?

Regarding your suggestion - it has been frequently suggested that we should only respect the wishes of groups who wish to work with us, and only allow them to control their chapters. Your idea is similar to this.

I don't think it's necessary to go down this path - the groups who left in the recent drama are only a drop in the ocean - insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Their projects will most likely be picked up at some point by groups who are happy to work with us - see Solo Leveling as an example.

Not to mention it makes absolutely no sense to go "you can freely control your chapters, but only if you're willingly posting them to our site anyway"
