Have you ever came across a manga that had a good synopsis but you start reading it and it has horrible execution and shitty characters? Me. Fuckin. Too.

Im looking for good mangas with a smart/strong mc that isnt a total pushover. Someone cunning that gets shit done.

Cid Kagenou From The Eminence in Shadow

Someone that gets shit done in the shadows (duh)

Kang Chan From God of Blackfield

A lad with strong pride and great leadership.

Oono Akira From Maou-Sama Retry

A true man of trades. Can persuade anyone to do his bidding be it by force or just a simple look.

Nagumo Hajime from Arifureta

Looked down upon and betrayed but comes back stronger then anyone.

I'm reading Ajin right now, and it fits the bill for what you're looking for.

Kingdom's a classic, and will keep you busy for a long while. Big mix of characters all along the various extremes of the smart/strong spectrum butting heads against each other trying to unify China, MC included.
