this title is still wild to me, likely because I just keep half-expecting Shimamura to throw in the towel on Adachi--though I pray she never does, all the same.
It's a strange dynamic, in that it's simultaneously heartening and heart-wrenching.

But I'm glad it's continuing because I so want to see the ending of it all. Whatever that may be.

Same honestly, Id've never expected her to put effort into this relationship while she's actively calling it a handful and sacrificing relationships with literal childhood friends. The dedication is astonishing.

I used to be a bit of an Adachi.

I wish I had a Shimamura during that time in my life, and so I hope these two let me see what a happy ending of that 'me' could have looked like.

But I have a weird sense of mirror empathy for Shimamura because of that and keep catching myself thinking "yeah girl, I'm not worth this. Go be happy, seriously."

I think it works for her exactly because Adachi is relentlessly pushy.

Yes! I relate a lot to Adachi too. I turned out to be a bit of a difficult person through high school and seeing Shima being that patient with Adachi made me wish I had some one like that during that time. Realistically people WILL move on from a relationship like this so I constantly hope for these two to work this out. I have faith Adachi will overcome her insecurities and have a proper relationship with Shimamura.

If you want to find out the ending already, then read the light novel (LN). Volume 99.9 of the LN (which released after Volume 11) contains the absolute ending to the series. Although Volume 8 of the light novel originally contained an ending to the series, the author ended up redoing the ending in the aforementioned Volume 99.9, which is a bit confusing. Nonetheless, I definitely think the LN is worth reading, especially since you get to see all the characters‘ internal monologue. Shimamura is shown in a much better light in the LN, and it’s much more obvious there that she is madly in love with Adachi after they start dating.

PEAK CHAPTERS AHEAD 😌😌
If you know, you know. Anyway, since you presumably read the light novel, then
what do you think is going to happen with the 10 year time skip? The first chapter of Volume 8 in the LN immediately takes place in the future, then the middle portion of the volume takes places in the present again, and the final chapter jumps back to the future. So far, the future chapters have been skipped over, so do you think the manga will just omit them entirely, or do you think those future chapters will be placed at the end of Volume 8 of the manga?

Alright guys, buckle up. This part of the manga adapts Volume 8 of the light novel, and oh boy is it just wonderful. I’m not exaggerating when I say that Volume 8 contains some of the genuine BEST moments in the entire series. If you thought Shimamura already had fantastic character development these past few chapters since she started dating Adachi, then you'll be absolutely stunned to see how amazing Shimamura is in this volume alone.

Side note, but y’all really should give the light novel (LN) a try. The LN is beautifully narrated, and the monologue you see in there from both Adachi and Shimamura is so important to understanding the full scope of their characters (more so Shimamura). Plus, if you’re aching to reach the end of the series already, then the LN is obviously where you wanna go. Anyway, I hope y’all have fun reading.

Here's a nice illustration from 99.9, for context.

Its rare to see someone experience a plane ride for the first time, I too was freaking out as much as Shimamura was during my first flight(still do) so its nice to see more people scared of flying in media especially if its their first time :aquadrink:

Also it was really smooth of Adachi to hold her hand without noticing to calm Shimamura down :meguusmug:
