If you want to find out the ending already, then read the light novel (LN). Volume 99.9 of the LN (which released after Volume 11) contains the absolute ending to the series. Although Volume 8 of the light novel originally contained an ending to the series, the author ended up redoing the ending in the aforementioned Volume 99.9, which is a bit confusing. Nonetheless, I definitely think the LN is worth reading, especially since you get to see all the characters‘ internal monologue. Shimamura is shown in a much better light in the LN, and it’s much more obvious there that she is madly in love with Adachi after they start dating.
I think her love for Adachi is pretty obvious even here in the manga but I agee with everything else you said.

Some are taking her not having something positive to say about Adachi at all times, as though that means she isn’t madly in love. She’s just not living a fairy tale. You don’t like everything and sometimes shit they do gets on your nerves, other times it’s cute. It’s normal but maybe jarring if we’ve become accustomed to “perfect” manga romances where their issues with each other (if any) are treated like story arcs to be overcome. I like this series and Shima exactly because it and she is much more realistic in that sense.

If you know, you know. Anyway, since you presumably read the light novel, then
what do you think is going to happen with the 10 year time skip? The first chapter of Volume 8 in the LN immediately takes place in the future, then the middle portion of the volume takes places in the present again, and the final chapter jumps back to the future. So far, the future chapters have been skipped over, so do you think the manga will just omit them entirely, or do you think those future chapters will be placed at the end of Volume 8 of the manga?
i hope they will be added, i mean the "if they haven't met in high school" au was included so let's hope the future chapters will be as well

That's an excellent way to put it, I couldn't have said it any better if I tried. They have a realistic relationship as flawed people, in a medium that almost never does that.

Hello sir, I'd like two big McYurimeals, two HappyYuris and three cokes and one mineral water. Oh and a pure injection of god damn frikkin happiness straight into my veins. Thanks.

Sorry sir, we don't offer meals. But you may quench your thirst with these.

It's honestly refreshing to see. To the point that it's almost uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing because it's so realistic that I keep thinking "well if Adachi continues to be this way then doesn't that mean Shimamura will eventually get fed up and leave?"

But real life isn't that black & white, and honestly, it's reassuring, seeing a similarly deep, nuanced, thoughtful depiction of how complex love and affection really are between two well-written and flawed-but-beautiful people.

You don't give up at the first sign of trouble, if you actually care. And Shimamura does. As vastly and deeply as the ocean.

Manga readers,

You’ll soon get to see more of Shimamura’s character development. It’s been a slow burn, but the payoff is worth it.

Seeing Shimamura before and after is, in my opinion, one of the real highlights of this series. It only gets better afterwards.
