Telling your high school daughter that she can't cook because it's too dangerous is insane. I'm suprised they even let her walk outside the house alone if that's how overly protective they are lol.

Some extra context about the mushrooms and bamboo shoots: There's a tongue-in-cheek war over two very similar snacks made by Meiji called Kinoko no Yama (Mushroom Mountain, mushrooms with cookie stems and chocolate caps) and Takenoko no Sato (Bamboo Shoot Village, bamboo shoot-shaped cookies with chocolate coating). People are extremely passionate about their preferences between the two, kind of like arguments on the English-speaking internet about whether pineapple should ever come near a pizza, or whether or not a hot dog counts as a sandwich.

very easy to separate words properly with this website for example

so sorry for my bad ts, i'm not a native, there will be a few errors that will annoy readers, thank you for your help. I will improve in the next chapter

Thanks for the translation.
I should re-read the previous chapters as I could barely recognize her, she seems to me completely out of character. I probably have a wrong memory.

Not at all, this immediately caught me off guard as well. This entire chapter had me thinking I was maybe following a different pastry-related manga and was mixing them up because it's so different from the other chapters.

The female lead has not had focus on her yet and from the male lead's perspective she hasn't really shown much personality yet. Now suddenly the author decides to build her entire personality and and a whole damn backstory to boot all in one chapter. It's so out of the blue.

So that's why she is overactive type.... It's kinda understandable when you got overprotective people on your surroundings

Thank you for continuing the translation!
In the meantime the translation for volume 2 of the novel was completed, so I made an audiobook of it. I'll link the playlist for anyone who might be interested:
Sadly, according to the author's twitter, it seems that volume 3 will be the last one for the novel (probably due to low sales). I honestly don't understand the Japanese market sometimes; this story is fun and the heroine is fresh and entertaining... that's too bad!
Damn. I hope the manga doesn't get axed anytime soon then. Need this sweetness

np, everyone has to start somewhere. just be aware that you gotta separate words at syllables, the website i linked makes that super easy. just put the word that needs to be separated in and it will show you all the syllables it has. i know a bunch of native english speakers who also struggle with that :kek:

In the first chapter of the LN, it was explained that her parents are overprotective because
they had her at relatively old ages because of difficulties. This was in the same scene where she asked him to watch over her in the beginning

Not sure why the manga didn't include that
