I'll never quite understand lunch culture in Japan.
If a meal is composed of a single sandwich instead of an appetizer, two dishes and dessert. That's not a meal, that's a snack!

Lunch in America for me was a couple chicken nuggets and milk.... otherwise pizza, a sandwich of some kind, a burger. For bigger items, it was only 1 though. So it was only 1 sandwich, 1 burger, 1 slice of pizza. We did have sides but they were mostly steamed vegetables and tasted like shit so I never got them.
