I have a feeling both girls are using Riku as a way to get back at Takt for breaking their hearts (new girl for getting her heart broken by Takt and Minase for whatever happened with Takt before). I hope thats not the case cuz that would be a really shitty thing to do to the MC as i want one of them to actually fall in love with the MC for real, but i have an assumption both girls are just trying to get back at Takt and really LIKE/LIKED him.

I believe Minase is defo someone who wanted to date Riku over Takt but for whatever reason chose Takt instead of presuing what she wanted (Heck she even says after the Kiss she should have done that earlier) but at the same time like you I think it is some kind of revenge on Takt for whatever he did. Umimi though I'm not sure how they are gonna angle her, I don't think she is using Riku but I tihnk the perception will be that others will think her and Riku are up to something.

It makes me wonder if they are gonna have it be an actual triangle trying to get into MC's pants for different reasons to do whatever their objective is.

Honestly if I was the MC I'd be pissed at both the girls at this point and would have vastly distanced myself from them if they act like this. It's also so weird for the new girl to be so clingy with the MC but want to be with Takt like why would she do that and give off the wrong impression to the one she wants to date?

This chapter feels like drama writing for dramas sake and not what people would do. Also I feel like MC and Takt would have talked about her failed confession in the past, both from a Takt (who feels inferior) bragging about it and the MC who's still his bestie.

Also having Minase locked arm in arm with Takt towards the end of the chapter is confusing me, was it done cause she's jelly of the new girl being clingy? or was it because she does indeed love Takt but something happened and she's using the MC to vent something. Man this series keeps me reading it cause I wanna know what kind of dumpster fire this will turn into lol

Exactly. I hope the MC remains unbiased throughout the whole situation and protects himself at all times because if I was in his position I wouldn't trust any of them one bit. If it turns out that the girlfriend actually loves the MC I can kinda understand why she doesn't just break up with her bf (she wants to protect the relationship that the 3 of them have so she can't just start going out with her bf's bestfriend and to avoid confrontation she prefers to be sneaky about it).

But still, as you stated she can have a hidden agenda, same goes for the new girl (she feels like a 304 from the get go ngl). Things are still unclear but I hope the author writes something convincing.

Minase has always been in love with MC but he wasn't interested in her until recently; and in fact there is no indication at all she was the one that confessed to Takt, it is instead more likely that Takt liked Minase for a while and so confessed to her, and she accepted because her attraction to MC seemed unrequited so she didn't have better options anyway. Despite not knowing there actually is an affair going on, it seems Takt knows Minase always liked the MC the most so he still feels the need to prove himself.

Now that MC has become conscious of her, she finally saw the chance and started flirting and initiated this affair, while never having cared much about her own relationship with Takt that she never really saw that way.

This new girl Umimi clearly actually likes Takt and is just close friends with the MC; she knows Minase was the one Takt always liked (and probably broke up with her because of that) and this seems to be proven by the fact that her changeover compared to the flashback has her look much more like Minase, in an attempt to fit more what seem to be Takt's tastes.
She doesn't like the MC that way, she is very touchy mostly because of their friendship and maybe because she intended to make Takt jealous, before finding out he's in a relationship with Minase.

In a way she's has been in a similar position to what Takt is now, having been in a relationship with someone they knew liked someone else more

Man, I rlly love your take. I was convinced both girls were going to be a love interest for the MC but you make a lot of sense and this script is quite cliché so it would not surprise me if it turned out to be this way. It also explains the kouhai's behaviour but I still want to think that she's in love with the MC. I want the author to surprise me with something different cuz this series have been very entertaining so far.

1-Females are different from males. We would break up with our gf if we rlly don't want anything to do with her but it's different for women tho.

She is friends with both guys so breaking up with her bf to go out with her bf's bestfriend would

1: make her look like a h03 (not only to the eyes of both guys involved but also to the public eye).

2: it would create some type of confrontation between her and Takt, who clearly cares about her, and between Takt and the MC and women in general try to avoid confrontation.

3: She senses some interest from the MC but the MC won't give her enough peace of mind/courage/security that he will go out with her and that if a problem where to happen they would still get involves with each other.

So instead of just breaking up (as you say) which she can't just do, she is prob waiting for some type of initiative coming from the MC, some type of confirmation that will give her enough security to make that decision. Hope this made sense to you.

2-I agree. It's either the girl or your bro. Personally I don't like Takt one bit (weird vibes) so I would just take his girl (fck him lol) but the MC seems like he cares for his friendship with him so he should establish a clear boundary between him and his friend's gf
