This has been my pet peeve for a long time. I don’t know how people in Japan decided that getting caught in the rain made you sick but that cliche/trope is just completely wrong from a clinical standpoint.

Contrary to what Manga tells us, getting caught in the rain while walking home from school will NOT lead to you being too sick to go to school the next day.

You would have to be in that state for a long time to get to the point where your body temperature lowered enough that your immune system would be compromised and even then you’d still have to be exposed to a virus to actually get sick, which also takes time to progress to the point where you have symptoms.
