@Mangamoz @rezced @RakshaJaeger @HellJester , Chapter 69 is out in Bokugen.

So, after their bonding time and Takt getting confirmation from Riku that he likes Shizuku, Takt leaves Riku an apology letter. In it, he apologizes for dating Shizuku even though he knew Riku liked her. He admits he only did it because he didn’t want to be left out, since the three of them had always been together.

He also tells Riku where Shizuku is and asks Riku to contact him when he arrives, but says this will be their last contact, as he plans to embark on a journey to become a better man. While Riku reads the letter, we see Takt leaving his house and confronting his father.

After securing financial help from his parents, Riku is about to leave when Umimi shows up to say goodbye and wishes him a safe return.

The chapter ends with Shizuku receiving a call from Takt as she and her mother prepare to leave the place they’re staying.

Insight:

So Takt didn’t have feelings for Riku, he just didn’t want to be alone... and Shizuku agreed to date him for the same reason, even though she liked Riku... This is so dumb.

I’ll get the comments later.
Damn the journey is coming to an end huh.

Gonna miss shitting on this, not a lot of other stories hit that sweet delicious so bad its good spot for me.

The other fun shitholes for me are kind of missing the mark recently.

NTREVENGE: Too much mindless hentai without a purpose, feels hollow to poke fun at it now.

Parallel Paradise: Copy paste the above.

Imasara: Author is actually trying to make a debatably coherent story so I find it hard to poke fun at when they are actually making an attempt, even if I don't like the results, they are still trying.

Grapara, Guilty Circle: I swear I am the only one reading those, I barely ever see anyone commenting there so I don't even bother to comment.

I can understand. This manga was fascinating with how random things were.
We've seen dumb plan from protagonist in other story. But this, it was so useless, as anyone didn't get a benefit of it, and cruel (even if Shizuku intention was not, the result was cruel and stupid as fuck. About to leave without telling the truth. Is not how love work my dear).
I'll be Riku, I'll bail out of this shit after getting explanation from Shizuku and get Yako as gf.

Oh boy, it's just so lame. If I was the author, I'll go all in the gay theory. At least, it'll leave a less bitter taste than the "I didn't want to be alone, so I've acted like a prime asshole". If he isekai and meet Yuu, I'm sure they'll be best friend :lul:.

The cherry on the top, Takt go in a journey to be a better man. I don't know what to say, sigh...this drama trope.

So, the visit card will never be used or what ? Because Riku just need to call, damnit. Instead he take his bike.

Time for Takt to apologise to Shizuku I think. Welp, first step to redeem himself.

Is dumb. Even worse than dumb. Riku has been fucked up because of his best friend (who is not) and Shizuku who wanted to glue them together by accepting this.
First things first: Chapter 68 is available in English on the translator's site - https://rdscans.com/manga/his-girlfriend/chapter-68/

I'll give my thoughts on 68 first and then overall.

Nothing quite like taking a break from frantically searching for Shizuku and Takt to play half-naked Shogi with Takt and not mention Shizuku until the end. So basically both of them admit to doing horrible things to each other but decide not to say what the horrible things are/were. Riku admits he's taking a leave of absence from school to search for Shizuku and when Takt asks him if he knows where to look Riku is like "sorta...I'll just look around" which is just so boneheaded. Takt even asks Riku if he thought about asking Takt where she is and Riku is all "I don't mind if you don't tell me, it's my problem anyway." Like wtf. Love the translation note at the end where they say Riku will find Shizuku eaten by bears.

So when chapter 67 came out I had a brief conversation with the translator on discord due to their note at the end where they expressed that they didn't think Takt was gay and that his feelings towards Riku were something else. They give an example of Chapter 6 where Takt and Riku are bathing naked together and Takt acts completely normal about it and doesn't seem embarrassed at all.

I also thought Takt was obsessed with Riku (since Riku was the first person to be nice to him in his life) but that Takt didn't feel romantic love towards him but I got destroyed on the discord server by people who thought I was an idiot for that take lol. If Takt was gay why would he make out so much with Shizuku (both shown and implied). It made more sense if Takt was obsessed with Riku and wanted to be Riku or have Riku's life.

I started reading My Friend is Having an Affair with My Husband aka Shin'yuu no Furin Aite wa, Otto deshita which I believe is complete at 50 chapters and the translators are (so far) releasing one chapter a day so it should be over soon.

I've started seeing a pattern in the manga that I bother to talk about and I'm not sure what it says about me lol. I would never cheat in real life but I sure read a lot of manga about cheating.

Instead of finding a girl he likes, he goes out of his way to date his « best friend’s » love interest to cope :haa: And Shizuku is not better than him, whether she knew or not that Takt didn’t like her doesn’t change anything. She was kissing a dude she didn’t like in front of the guy she likes to preserve their friendship, while hiding her illness from the both of them lol.

For Imasara i can’t forget how I was baited for 20 chapters, but shitting on Yami simps is funny I recon
I stopped reading Guilty circle after getting spoiled about the big shift, that shit is basically and add to promote rapists lol
Same for Grapara, didn’t read spoilers but the first chapters made me understand that this shit is not for me :haa:

well, because it happens that people who are in straight relationship are closeted gay, but try to fit in by having a normal relationship by standard view. Well, it require some writing talent to make it, things that the author is not gifted with (it's why his scampy yuri romcom work better. Is your light comedy without too much depth), so it's better we get the dumb and dumber ending in fact :kek:

But, imo, even if it was far etched in some point (we knew it), this theory (among a lot) was widely regarded because, with how the pacing and plot was, it made more sense as why Takt acted like that. But, he's just an asshole who feared to be alone (so stupid, as if Riku would abandon him. We talk about someone who helped Umimi in her family problem).

But, we make peace with the true dumb end. This thing don't need an essay to explain more:dogkek:. Just stupid people doing stupid thing.

So I think this is what I think the author is going for:

Per flashback we're shown that Takt meets Riku, in Riku's family's shed, for the first time when they're 7-8. It's revealed that Takt's entire family treats Takt like shit and frequently abuse him physically, mentally and psychologically. There is no mention so far as to why Takt's family does this. Riku is literally the first person in Takt's life to treat him as a human being, show him kindness and actually call him by name. I believe this causes Takt to obsess over Riku from that point forward. Takt is clinging to Riku like a life raft. We see glimpses of this such as when Riku's family drops them off at the beach house for their job and Takt mentions he wishes he was part of Riku's family.

In Chapter 69 (currently only in Japanese and Spanish), we see a photo of Takt, Riku & Shizuku as little kids so I'm assuming Riku & Shizuku probably were friends first and then once Riku met Takt he joined the group. They're a merry little band until sometime in middle school or early high school when we see Takt notice how close Riku and Shizuku are. He knows Shizuku likes Riku and he suspects Riku feels the same. At this point, Takt hatches his plan. Takt feels that if Riku & Shizuku date that he's going to be left behind. Takt is still obsessive over Riku so he feels his only option is to prevent the two of them from dating. Takt also knows that Shizuku is savvy to the group dynamic and that if she turns Takt down the group will fracture and drift apart so he uses that to his advantage to force Shizuku into dating him.

What Takt doesn't know is that Shizuku is sick and potentially terminal. Shizuku has decided that she's most likely going to die soon. She wants her remaining time to be full of happy memories with her good friends Takt and Riku. She doesn't want to tell either of them that she's dying because she feels the remaining time she has left will just be the three of them moping around and feeling sorry for themselves. Enter Takt. He all of a sudden asks her out. Shizuku is now stuck between a rock and a hard place. All she wants is for her remaining time to be happy. She loves Riku but Riku hasn't asked her out yet. She loves Takt but only as a friend. If she turns down Takt she most likely breaks up the friend group and she fears there's a chance Riku will not want to be friends with her either and then she'll be spending the rest of her short life without her two closest friends. If she does accept Takt's confession, she'll never get to be with Riku her true love but she'll keep the friend group whole for whatever time she has left.

Shizuku decides to be cautious and take what to her is the safe route and accepts Takt's confession. However, she makes a deal with Takt: the friend group of her, Takt & Riku has to stay intact and they all act friendly up until Shizuku "transfers schools" in April of their 3rd year of high school. If Takt can agree to that, Shizuku says she'll be his from that point on.

Here's where things might get a bit complicated. I believe that at the time of Takt's confession that Shizuku legit thought that Takt was in love with her. Since Shizuku was not in love with Takt but wanted to keep the friendship together she agreed but added on the deal. She probably assumed that Takt (being in love with her) would want to do typical boyfriend/girlfriend things like kissing, making out and eventually sex. Shizuku was most likely ok with kissing and making out but not sex. She needed to do something that would keep Takt from breaking up with her and destroying the friend group but interested enough to keep things going. So, she created the deal where Takt would get to have sex with her in the future. I'm sure Shizuku felt that by that future point in time maybe Takt would have given up or she'd be in such poor health that she wouldn't have to go through with it. Takt, whose only goal is to keep Riku and Shizuku apart, probably had no problem accepting this deal.

So for the time being, Shizuku has managed to keep the three of them together. Now, she has a new problem. She loves Riku and wants to have sex with him before she dies. Enter the beginning of the manga and all the shenanigans that occur. Now we get to the scene where Takt finds out the Shizuku is ill. They're talking about the deal they made and Shizuku allows Takt to start undressing her. At this point, Shizuku is in despair because Riku never committed to losing his virginity with her and her health is good enough that she has no reason to turn Takt away. However, she can't help but tell Takt that she's in love with Riku which prompts Takt to be all "I've always known that the only one you loved is Riku." Shizuku tries to tell Takt she's always cared for him too but gets interrupted.

Shizuku sees Takt crying and in pain. I believe Takt is crying because he knows what he's doing is wrong and that he's hurting Riku. I believe Shizuku thinks Takt is crying because he's not in love with her but with Riku and that he's forcing himself to do those things to her. I think Shizuku makes a mistake and assumes Takt is gay. When Shizuku starts apologizing to Takt he freaks out because he thinks she should be mad at him because what he's doing is wrong. Shizuku misinterprets and starts telling him that he's been in love with the very start with...and then Takt screams and runs away.

So long story short - I think Takt liked Shizuku but probably didn't love her. He was content with keeping her and Riku apart and any kissing/making out/sex was just icing on top of the cake. When he realized Shizuku was dying and that he had stolen when little time she had left is when Takt finally came to his senses and started trying to make up for it with Riku. I think Shizuku loved Takt as a friend and only agreed to his "confession" to keep the friend group together for the year or so she had left. I think her promise to Takt was somewhat of a bluff (just like what she did with the beach manager). She probably felt she had time to give her virginity to Riku and that if she didn't she'd either be too sick to commit to her side of the deal or that Takt wouldn't hold her to it.

Also, I don't believe she kissed or did anything romantic with Takt in front of Riku but I could be mistaken. I need to re-read the manga. I think the most that happened was that Riku saw a hickey on her neck.

Well maybe that’s what the author was going for, but there are tons of holes in there:
-why did Takt transfer with Shizuku ? Maybe I missed why, but if he doesn’t know about her disease, then it doesn’t make sense. Author says Takt is possessive about Riku and doesn’t loves Shizuku. Then why would he left him to follow her ?
-Shizuku does all of that to preserve her group, but starts having secrets with both of them. Her very behavior makes Riku thinks she’s not dating Takt for good reasons, and that she may like him. What if she had succeeded in seducing Riku ? After she dies, their friendship is dead, Riku is too kind to keep that secret. It’d have made more sense that Takt was forcing her to date him imo.

Shizuku sounds very selfish and extremely dumb. She does all of that thinking that Takt loves her, and seeing how she behaves with Riku, she probably also knows that he likes her. Know that I think about it, I don’t remember her seeing getting jealous when he gets freaky with the other girls.

About the kissing, if i remember correctly it was in the early chapters, they were going back from school, Riku part ways with them and Takt kisses her on the spot. Good ntr vibes :haa:

Takt didn't transfer with Shizuku. Shizuku was never transferring schools but rather she left school for an extended period of time to prep for her surgery. Shizuku, her mom and the teacher came up with the transferring schools story as Shizuku did not want to tell any of her classmates what was really going on as she wanted them to focus on their tests to get into college. Instead, the day that Riku found out from the teacher that Shizuku was gone and not coming back, he rushed to find Takt but Takt had already left school to go visit Shizuku as Takt had just found out about Shizuku's illness.

It's not shown who told Takt about Shizuku for him to show up to where she was staying after the surgery - I'm assuming Shizuku called him as the next chapter's discussion between Shizuku's mom and Takt left the impression that this was the first time Takt was speaking to the mom. So I have to assume Shizuku probably told Takt where to go as now that the surgery is done the deal is also done and she wanted to come clean about everything.

Takt confessing to Shizuku really put her on the spot and probably did not give her any time to really sit down and think about it. I'm assuming she answered him right then and there and came up with the deal. The confession is shown (without words) in chapter 67 and it seems like she answered him very spur of the moment.

Yes, her keeping secrets from both of them does have the potential to blow up the group once she's dead. Yes, her behavior with Riku has the potential to destroy Takt & Riku's friendship once she's dead. I think she made a split decision to date Takt and immediately regretted it but felt there was nothing she could do. She decided to pursue Riku because she realized she was most likely going to die and her love for Riku overpowered everything else. She didn't want to regret not being with him.

I believe Shizuku thought she was being unselfish by hiding the truth from Takt & Riku as she didn't want them to waste time feeling sad for her. I don't agree with her action there but I can understand why she might think the way she did. I think she suspected Riku liked her but he didn't really confirm it until Chapter 42 at the beach house when they're in bed together. Riku mentions he doesn't want anyone touching her but him and that he didn't want her to go out with Takt or anyone else. He'd been wondering why she wasn't his. Shizuku responds that she's happy Riku has been thinking about her that way but that she can't be his. In the moment, we're supposed to think that the "I can't be yours" means she's Takt's but I think it means overall that she can't be Riku's as she'll be dead soon. This leads into Chapter 43 where Shizuku's licking Riku's cum off her fingers and Riku is protesting - she says she wants Riku to remember she was the first to do that with him. She goes on to say "Even if you were to start dating someone, or get married in the future, you'll always remember that I was your first."

This is the overall goal of Shizuku. She wants Riku to be her first and for her to be his. That way he'll have lasting good memories of her after she dies. She goes on to further state that it's not that "I want to have my first time with Riku, but rather I want Riku to be the one to initiate it." She wants Riku to take a stand for once and fight for her. It's not completely fair to him as, as far as he knows, the relationship between Shizuku and Takt is real and he doesn't want to betray his friend.

All in all, it's not the best writing from the author but I can kind of see where they're going with it.

Regarding displays of affection between Shizuku and Takt - she ruffles his hair in Chapter 1, she touches his back to greet him in Chapter 2, she's linked arm in arm with him in Chapter 7, again linked arms in Chapter 16 as well as holding hands, Shizuku has a bandaid on her neck in Chapter 17 which might be covering a hickey that Takt gave her after Chapter 16 but it's not confirmed, I got to Chapter 27 and still hadn't found anything else between them so I'm going to stop for now.

However, after skimming through Chapters 1 through 27, I realized that I might be mistaken as to when the deal between Shizuku and Takt took place. I just assumed it was right after Shizuku accepted Takt's confession but now I'm thinking it came later.

I think Shizuku accepted Takt's confession and then proceeded with zero displays of affection - no kissing, no making out, no sex. I have a feeling that while she accepted to keep the friend group together she wasn't willing to do anything other than maybe hand holding or linked arms.

In Chapter 16, Takt sees Shizuku casually touching Riku's back and stops walking with the group. Riku notices and Takt says he has to go and gives Shizuku a serious look. She reacts and leaves with him. You see them walking away with linked arms then they stop and you see a speech bubble of Takt talking to her while pointing to someplace. She nods and then Takt takes her hand and drags her off while side eyeing Riku. Here's what I think happened there.

Takt, noticing more and more that Shizuku and Riku are getting closer despite Takt's attempts to block them by dating Shizuku, takes Shizuku somewhere to set some rules. I think he probably asked her what the heck is going on and why is she all lovey dovey with Riku and won't even kiss him even though they're dating. I think it's at this point that Shizuku comes up with the "deal". She'll agree to kissing and making out but no sex until April of their 3rd year. She makes the deal to keep Takt happy and the friendship group together. Takt accepts as it he thinks it'll mean that Shizuku stops being lovey dovey with Riku and he gets a little extra out of it. Maybe he did give her a hickey and that's why she had a bandaid in Chapter 17 or maybe it's a red herring and the place they went had a bunch of mosquitos - who knows. Maybe we'll get a flashback of the deal or maybe the author will just gloss over it.

Chapter 69 is titled "Let’s Say Everything"

Here are some comments from the Japanese audience on the Sunday Webry app:

どんなコメントにも惑わされずに作者自身の描きたい作品を最後まで貫いて欲しい。作者の書いた作品がすきだから

I hope the author won’t be swayed by any comments and will stick to the story they want to create until the end. I like the works the author writes.

vBARf0n.png

The author probably went with the BL route because that’s what most of the comments were asking for, but now that it’s getting so much criticism, they’re pissed off and thinking of quitting. I’ve seen plenty of works end up going down some weird path and crashing because viewers complained too much. You guys are total amateurs when it comes to writing scripts, so just shut up and read.

The 'X days until graduation' that was there at the beginning has completely disappeared, so what was the countdown even for?
:thonk:

EkSFjE0.png

It’s funny how if Takt hadn’t stubbornly insisted on dating Shizuku for no reason, nothing would’ve happened and the story would’ve just gone on peacefully.

cP4nsYT.png

Aside from Shizuku’s illness, every single problem is caused by Takt. He’s the one messing up almost everything.
:this:

BTkD2wl.png

Shizuku was left naked and abandoned, but then she’s just at home like nothing happened. That’s hilarious.
It's kind of sad how Shizuku's so used to crap happening to her.

x441Dsj.png

Takt ditching everything at the very end and even leaving the house is just unfair. Especially after he was the one who ruined Riku and Shizuku’s relationship.
:this:

yG9H9wi.png

In the end, it looks like nothing’s going to happen with Riku’s house or Shizuku being sold. Seriously, what was the point of all that?

3zlohLU.png

Takt, even at this point, doesn’t tell Riku that he liked him, leaves things with Shizuku unresolved, and just disappears on his own. That’s insane.

Right now, Aitsu no Kanojo has turned into a serious mystery, leaving readers constantly frustrated and unsatisfied. I want it to go back to a healthy, erotic route so readers can feel relieved and the ending can satisfy both the author, the readers, and the characters. Of course, I love Aitsu no Kanojo, so if it keeps going forever without ever truly ending, that would be more than welcome.
:aquadrink:

NnRxdUa.png

Wrapping it up in volume 8 would skip too much and make it hard to understand, so finishing it between volumes 9 and 10 makes more sense. But if Aitsu no Kanojo moved to Yoru Sunday for irregular publication and went all-out with the erotic content that’s been half-done until now, and continued for at least another 2–3 years from here, that would be even better.
:aquadrink:

9fPWW2Y.png

It seems like it would be suited for a one-shot, episodic erotic manga.
:questionblob:

qvVv7tO.png

Even putting BL aside, the settings and developments around Shizuku were never highly regarded to begin with.
For someone pretending to be a critic and writing unnecessarily long posts, you really don’t have a good eye… lol.
Feels like a snarky comment to some other reader, but I have no clue who.

zZQArlQ.png

Looks like it’s about to end.

CKn3SJd.png

If the author changes their work just based on viewers’ comments, that’s a problem with the author not being committed to their own story. That’s why the manga ends up being something where you don’t even know what they were trying to do.
:thonk:

pNgn03e.png

All things considered, I still want the three of them to get along well.
:aquadrink:

miShBTm.png

Could it be that he’s not going to end up with Shizuku? With Umimi instead? Did he chicken out?

BOb5GhJ.png

The only ones wanting BL are women and trolls, right?
It’s been said for a long time that if shonen manga tries to take women’s opinions into account, it ends up being bad, and I think that’s true.
The criticism of trying to make it BL started because previously silent readers began commenting.
If the author was planning to go with BL, then going with the loudest opinions is the author and editor’s problem.
Personally, I’d bet that the author did something BL-ish just to shut up all the 'BL BL' noise and then quit.
In all this time I’ve been doing this Japanese public comment thing, this is the first time I’ve seen this kind of misogyny bullshit.

5Z22WDD.png

With Takt’s support and the way things are going, a happy ending is probably the only option, but… whatever happened to that graduation countdown lol. Has the author forgotten about it too?

Regarding the X number of days until graduating that gradually disappeared - I'm going to date myself here but I remember reading my friend's copies of Spawn and those started with a counter that went down every time Spawn used his hell powers. I think Todd McFarlane wasn't sure if the comic would take off so didn't think twice about that counter. Then when Spawn started to get popular he realized he was going to paint himself into a corner and the counter eventually went away.

Maybe this is another example of the author not exactly knowing where the story was going to go from the beginning.

Man japanese readers are not much different from us huh.

You got the "teacher's pet" comments, the critics, and even the gooners.

Now onto the story's content, I feel that the author got the axe. Or rage quit himself perhaps.

I think they want to focus more on Bad Girl since it got an anime. I just hope they use Aitsu no Kanojo as a learning experience.

WAIT WHAT!?

ACTUALLY WHAT IN THE HOLY JESUS FUCK!?

THIS IS THE SAME AUTHOR AS BAD GIRL!?

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT THE PERSON WHO MADE THAT WHOLESOME CUTE STORY ALSO DID THIS!? :notlikethis:
I could have sworn you already knew this. I remember talking to you about it at some point… or maybe I’m confusing you with someone else, since it’s been a while.

Ok now for a non-meme reply.

Knowing this fact now, I think you may have the closest realistic explanation for all this sudden rush to wrap up this story.

Bad Girl getting that sweet sweet anime money is a good reason to give that focus over this story which keeps getting shit on even in Japan.
