Sleeping in the same bed is not fucking. If you're over twenty and can't sleep in the same bed as your girlfriend without fucking her then you got some fucking issues.
It’s the implication. 99% of parents would not be cool with it, and they chose the most uncomfortable way to say they were so it became basically impossible for him to change his answer.

It's a real romcom script for a couple like this to have no desire to progress physically. I would understand if they were 15 year olds

Everyone's in on the game. Only the mother is somewhat reasonable.

This, "Oh, no, I'm using the same bath water," is dumb.

Almost surprised nothing happened during bath. Except some mandatory fanservice.

Yup, cute.

I really can't understand characters in their twenties unwilling to sleep in the same bed as their girlfriend, teenagers do this.
Lots of married couples have separate beds. Doesn't mean they spend the entire night in their own bed, but actually sleeping can be hard if you're not used to sleeping with someone. People have sleeping issues, and can barely even fall asleep alone, and just forget if there's someone else in the bed.

99% of parents would not be cool with it,
Girl's an adult, though.

There’s still an expectation when you stay in your parent’s home that hanky panky is off limits. It’s considered disrespectful to your parents, especially if they’re the parents of the wife. Like passive yes it’s expected that an adult couple (or even a teenage one) will have sex, but it’s absolutely a matter of TPO (time, place, occasion). Like just because you probably CAN get away with fucking on the down low at the Family BBQ, everyone is still gonna give you the stink eye if they find out and you probably won’t be invited to the next one.

Yeah, it's probably for the best, so her parents don't get the wrong idea--
"We've bought earplugs."
Welp.
