Lots of married couples have separate beds. Doesn't mean they spend the entire night in their own bed, but actually sleeping can be hard if you're not used to sleeping with someone. People have sleeping issues, and can barely even fall asleep alone, and just forget if there's someone else in the bed.

There’s still an expectation when you stay in your parent’s home that hanky panky is off limits. It’s considered disrespectful to your parents, especially if they’re the parents of the wife.
