There's been non progression whatsoever with any of the female characters but if he loves them as much as he claims he might even realise they have a degree of autonomy now and aren't programmed to love Leon by default. That I assume at least. He's already trying to alter his own fate but he should realise they might - shock - not even want Leon possibly.
