wait a minute at the end did she start losing her memories?

she used to say her mom made her parfaits but now she said she don't remember... that's a bit worrying

or maybe I'm just mistaken...

I also interpreted it like this and went to recheck chapter 2. The flashback shows little Mai and her mother making her some parfait, though the mother didn't have eyes, just a mouth. Maybe I misread the memory part this chapter (hopefully I did).
