Just my guess, but he's already fucked up the story of the game. The heroes' family is probably supposed to die, which sets him off on his journey to becoming a hero. Standard heroes journey stuff.

so far i like'em. he's not a good guy or a bad guy, just a guy all be it with resting evil face. its not super rare but still pretty uncommon to have a mostly realistic protagonist. he's doing the stuff because he wants to not just some hey i've gotta/wanta be situation. or some full on pure marshmellow/whatever the 180 of that is lol. and he's brought new meaning to "going for the nuts" xD. dude gets bonus points for that alone haha.

for now i'm looking at it as not necessarily being the game but rather a world thats just hella similar, there isnt some story line or flags or main quest. its, its own world that just happens to share a lot with the game. bleh its hard for me to put in words right... anyway i could be way off but i think it'd be better or at least more interesting that way, though they've covered their bases with him only having limited knowledge of the game anyway.

sidenote: he managed to make a girl that was terrified to see him and gonna force herself to do the deed for the sake of her village want to him to stay longer and possibly more just because he's just a generally nice dude, you could see it in her eyes even lol. the comment about her being a potential foster mom and throwing in an invicible quote is beautiful too bwahhaha. imagine her reaction if he said he had to get back to feed his foster kids her basically being one herself.

dude can even sew and cook! he's a bit curt but so far everyones assumptions have to be based on rumors and his face, at least people that know him dont think so. lina and innkeep seem like they'll show but up but i kinda hope marina does too. didnt expect him to trade a kohonay for a magical doll repair but luxe seems alright so probably worth, then you see the smile and know it was worth it for him awww.

i thought it'd be one maybe 2 from the title and summary but dudes gonna have him a whole house of surprisingly well behaved kiddos now. and if isuka has the same potential as the isuka of the game i think he'll be able to help him thrive without some "plot" forcing him to.
stella seems like a curious one lol. i get why he doesnt have much of a read on her yet.

this ended up long, but that was a pretty enjoyable first 2 chapters. i didnt think i'd like it that much xD. i'm curious to see where it goes from here and how similar or different it'll be to the game.

i recommended it purely based on mc's (mostly perceived, lol) relationship with aris, which is never really depicted in any real weird romantic light from what i could tell. yes there are other love interests but that wasn't really what that the initial recommendations were about, just adopted children and their fathers. that first arc with aris' introduction is also pretty much a textbook wholesome found family if you remove the mc's sinister inner monologue from the equation. understandable if that puts you off though
