Weak, contrived storyteling.
I come to manga with the hopes that if I give it a chance it will explain itself to me. I don't like jumping to conclusions about the state of the writing so quickly, especially only 6 chapter in. For now, I'll agree here, but I'll simply continue to hope this manga justifies itself in the future. Of course regardless of whether it does I'll still read, because frankly I've seen much stupider plots and I actually like the MC here, as compared to most MCs of his archetype he's actually being made to do something about shit like this instead of just letting it go. Reluctantly, of course, but a welcome difference nonetheless.
I'm quite sure that you're wrong, because I'm sure that it doesn't have to have been thought-out for commercial viability. And this manga has been very formulaic, as if the sole concern of the author is to get paid.
You're right that commercial viability has less and less to do with thought nowadays but I really wouldn't want to jump to conclusions about the author's reason to making this manga. Especially one that assumes bad faith and lack of artistic motivation on the mangaka's side. And formulaic doesn't mean bad or uninteresting (which is why some of us are still here).
Tropes are tropes for a reason, and so are formulas. I'd give this manga a little longer to differentiate itself (though honestly I doubt it'll do much of that in any way other than the maid and MC, so eh), because I tend to come to these manga willing to give them a chance. If I picked it up in the first place anyway. It has potential, and that's enough for me to keep paying attention for a bit longer.
Nothing that the third prince could do will completely win-over most of the people who have embraced the idea that he is a villain. So the king should just come clean, have his teeth publicly knocked-out by the royal executioner, abdicate, and retire in shame.
(Sheesh that's a little harsh when the king's fault is more inaction than action)
Again you're partially right. I don't believe everyone to be incapable of changing their minds. I just think direct action from the prince is more likely to win over more minds than an explanation from the King. Honestly, now that I think about it, not doing
both (as in, having the third prince solve this shit and then using the King's authority to corroborate his claims) would honestly be much dumber than just one. But again, I don't think the King's plan here is dumber than just making an announcement, and I can in part tolerate it because I like seeing the MC's personality (you know, the narrative purpose behind that decision).
Really a lot of my opinions on this can be boiled down to me giving the manga a chance to prove itself to me. I'm just more willing to give it the benefit of the doubt than you are, and that's fine. If you choose to drop it here and find something much better and more skilled at justifying its events and premise, that's great. Nothing wrong with being less tolerant of bullshit or sloppy writing, that just means we have different tastes.
