If I recall correctly, in the game world's setting, Cain's background is that he was neglected/unloved by his parents. Even with the isekai-ed MC making a bunch of changes to the story, I guess the dad still kind of sucks.

Maybe it's just that the manga can't afford to spend too many panels on the dad, but it really doesn't seem like he has much interest in raising his son. In fact, I'm pretty sure there was an earlier chapter where the dad was wholly unaware of just how far along Cain had come in his studies.

By the way, he mentioned something about forgetting "past memories" when he reaches 10 years. Is this the case now? Is he just plain siscon right now, and also wanting Diana to become a spellsword knight just for her own sake and no longer remember anything about their world being in a game?

For all of Cain's intelligence, he really should have bothered treating any of these girls with basic dignity. Like he only cares about his sister and boys which for the time period is an insane concept.

Yeah, to be honest he is shown as way too much of a weirdo to the point it's kinda creepy. I can't really root for him as a protagonist if he stays like that.

Regardless of your feeling about his dad, guy's 100% in the right about this one. Cain was obsessed with his sister, which is really unhealthy for both of them and also not a good look for the family overall.

I mean, he's definitely obsessive and creepy when it comes to her, but behind that is that it's for a good reason. Obviously his Mom and Dad did a shit job raising her the first time around, so he's terrified what they will corrupt her into if he's not around to correct the terrible things they teach her. Wish he was a bit smart as an actual grown adult and been less overtly obsessive about her. Like, he was smart enough to know to put on an act in order to hide their interest in combat and unladylike things, so why not do the same thing in regards to publicly being obsessed with her and a dick to everyone else?

Hopefully this serves as a wake up call for him to be smarter and more strategic about his moves, and scale back on the obsession somewhat.

Quite interesting the original game heroine never ended up playing a role in the bigger picture during the pre-academy years, despite getting properly introduced. Unless she will get an active role now that Cain will be out of the picture.

Honestly, it kind of makes sense. Cain and Diana getting overly attached with each other could be seen as a threat in a lot of ways, if you think about it - if the royal family got pissed at Cain + Diana's family constantly 1-upping them via the children, alot of bad things could happen: From forced marriage to potentially being assassinated by loyalists, etc.

I mean, to be fair though, he's probably gonna come back in 2-3 years anyways, skipping grades like crazy, otherwise why would the author mention something like that at the tail end.

As much of a siscon as he is, I feel so great watching (reading) these two interact with each other as siblings knowing full well that their love for each other is great pure sibling love and nothing else, I can confidently say this because it seems the author trying to ship cain and ilvareno 💀 (not into gay couple stories so I’d feel way better if a girl gets into the mix but at the same time I still want him to only think about di because this is what’s unique about his character and it wouldn’t fit otherwise… eh whatever happens happens I guess)
