Welcome to capitalism, I think. It is understandable, but it still feels like something is wrong.After a lot of the comic platforms went to apps where you use coins to unlock chapters (and get X free unlocks a day) they started to split chapters up into multiple parts. I don't know if that actually increased what they would charge per chapter to read something, but it for sure taxes the free unlocks/day side of things to make you want to pay a bit more.
Maybe they are trying to mimic how webtoons publish their chapters. Many webtoons feel short, but it is hard to tell because they are basically just one page long.
