My point is, it never happens before that single instance, despite how much of the story MC has fucked up. There are isekai with that as a story element and in those the story tries to right itself throughout the whole thing not just one random ultimately unimportant part because remember the MC is the secret post game super boss who is total optional NOT the final boss.

Your lives revolve around each other inevitably, as opposing forces! Neither can exist without the other, but neither can truly flourish around the other! For the heroine, the villainess is torturous opposition; for the villainess the heroine is destined doom, a hanging sword above the head. You’re telling me your other opposing half is in the story and you aren’t going to flirt with them at least a little?

Think of each medium as different alt. timelines. Different circumstances, different paths, different outcomes. Which is entirely plausible since alternate realities is a particular plot point a bit later. Literally every variant is as canon as another.

In the afterword for the 4th Light Novel the Author dedicates almost the entire thing to talking about she was actually jealous of how the Manga Alicia was written.

She uses Japanese sweets as a metaphor but the core is:

The red bean paste in the strawberry daifuku is just a little different from mine—specifically, Alicia is a really good girl in the adaptation. I want that red bean paste, not mine.

So her giving the green light to change Alicia and make her even more of a good girl makes total sense.
