i still don't understand why she can let go of the maid. sure, her sister is a hostage but it looks as if she doesn't feel any guilt after trying to poison our fmc
Aside from possibly spying for her father and trying to poison her, she's a competent maid. She doesn't show any contempt toward Yumiella, despite Yumiella's unfathomable strength, her suspicious darkness magic, the rumours, and the black hair. She's been doing her work well. You might even say those two get along. Maybe at the very beginning she tried to lead Yumiella to different directions following orders from the count, but it seems to me she gave up before long, noticing Yumiella is generally speaking too disinterested in typical nobility stuff and also too stubborn.

If you think about it, Yumiella might have difficulties finding a good replacement.

Morality aside, hiring some random thugs to kill someone stronger than the Demon Lord is dumb as shit. Like, props for the poison and the shackles, but once you realized that wasn't working, continuing to send assassins after her is kinda stupid.

Well as a reminder, and this is also relevant to how little her parents value her as well, she's never actually met her parents and vice versa. They actually know very little about her since she was sent away since birth. Subsequently, she was also previously only seen as marriage material for obtaining a candidate for male successor to the Dolkness house. Without getting too much into spoilers, obviously you can see that assessment has shifted to her being a liability.

I figure it's hard to be upset with the maid due to the scale of things. Like imagine someone trying to egg your house, by throwing eggs from the property line, only your house is over the horizon from the property line. It would be hard to know they even tried.

Specifically, the example given is apparently poison of that level bothers her about as much as someone shining a light into your eyes...while they're closed.

But more to the point, Rita does actually know her well. So she never really expected it to kill her. She just followed the exact letter of her orders. What's there to feel overly guilty about? She's giving Yumiella the most tame of physical annoyances that she would actually be able to notice, in exchange for protecting her sister. I think she should be commended instead for not breaking out in laughter.

There will also be further developments regarding Rita, obviously.

Now the Machiavellian move is for some regicide or rather actually exposing the plot of her father to the royals and have them deposed with no blood on her own hands, thus ensuring her position as head of household. But I doubt this MC will even do that. Ill probably send a message to stop the attempts since they are distrupting her nice school life (and putting her friends at risk) but i doubt she will depose her father.

Still very interested how the big demon king adventure plot line will end since every adaptation so far has had a different twist/reasoning for what happens there.

She also figured out the spying day 1 and much like the murder attempts, did not care because it affected her in such a way that she could brush off. Had Rita done something against Patrick or Ryu she would react in a more extreme fashion. Yumiella isn't stupid, just incredibly dense and her super-human abilities just make it worse.

Rita also had moments where she showed genuine care for Yumiella. Though, she still should have owned up to things earlier.

Well I won't reveal spoilers. But I'm curious why you would think she wouldn't take more overt action. She keeps to herself but internally she plans pretty drastic measures to be enacted in case things change for her. She definitely doesn't think much of flaunting her power, yet she is quite conscious of how it affects those around her. That implies that if it came to it, she would not hesitate to force a change around her with said powers, if she thought it practical.

It's a much smaller example, but consider, even in this very chapter she just physically tortured a man for information, then tortured him some more to make sure he wasn't lying. It's funny for us but it sure wasn't funny for him.

Thanks for the chapter, and thanks for supporting this series so far. Hopefully things will et better for you and you can continue it one day.

To answer everyone else regarding the dad and why she didn't punish the maid:

Both her mom and dad hated her from the beginning because of her black hair. They didn't expect anything from her and just wanted to marry her so that they could get some wealthy son into their family. Unfortunately for them they got Yuumelia as a daughter who is the strongest person in existence currently. Because she is getting too powerful with royal family supporters (of course she is not as she is quite neutral but that does not prevent others from seeing her like that) they decided the best course of action would be to outright murder her.

Unfortunately for them it's Yuumelia, and this ended with her becoming the head of the house after threatening both of them with black hold inside a closed room. For the rest of the story her mom and dad are still alive but without any titles and confined to their capital mansion.

As for the maid - she was there for her since she was a kid and looked after her. In addition to this bond she is also not a person that will outright punish someone who follows orders while being blackmailed. So she not only first secured her little sister's safety before facing her parents but she also have her maid continue serving her after she officially became duchess or countess (sorry, I forgot her title).

All in all, Yuumelia is awesome and so is anime show. If you didn't watch it so far - give it a go, it is a blast.
I am curious to know if Yuumelia does kills her parents in the manga. Considering that she spares them in both the light novel and the anime.

Because she's pretty much the only one of her maids who hasn't run away screaming yet and had her for the longest time. For Yumiella that's a huge enough reason to keep her around.

1. It's annoying to hire a new maid
2. She gets happy if anyone even barely tolerates her presence

Correction:

Per the prologue (p20), Yumiella only first met Rita on the first day of school. Rita had been a maid at the family home in the capital, and not a maid for Yumiella as she grew up.

Sorry for the delay, this is the latest chapter for now. As for my plan to pick up this series, it seems like I won't be able to do that anymore. I lost my babysitting gig, which is my main source of funding for college expenses, and my Ko-fi got reported, resulting in my account getting banned. As of now, I have made a new Ko-fi, I hope it won't get taken down too. Do not jump to any conclusions. Sorry for not being able to keep my word. 🙇‍♂️
why was it reported?
