I can't do it, I see the generic isekai exposition and I tune out.

It's so weird, I feel like a lot of these authors have pretty interesting stories to tell, but still cling to the exact same setting trope. It almost feels begrudging how they rush through the whole "Oh yeah, I'm Japanese and this is a fantasy world and actually I was a college student/accountant/salary worker, not that that will be relevant in about three chapters" spiel. Ironically, probably the same people who enjoy grinding in video games are the only ones who still actively like that setup.

Not intrinsically, it's a weird way of wording it but she can still be the only daughter and still be refer to as 'the eldest', it's usually used in more formal settings, like when listing names of people in attendance at formal gathering:

"Now entering, sir John Doe, eldest son of the Ducal house Doe!"
Basically it means you are of marriageable age and/or the next head of the house.

Addendum: Looking back if you are referring to page 4 it seems like it could mean that in Dolkness territory the head of house is the 'eldest daughter' instead of the usual 'eldest son', so a matriarchy essentially.
