One thing that bothers me "THis old man is bad with foreign names" so then this implies that the actual noble ladies mind is completely gone? Because a noble lady raised in this kind of enviroment should have no such issue. The running joke itself isn't bad but it really has disturbing implications if you think about it. He basically stole someone's body with no tracers of their mind remaining.

Normally author's avoid this issue by either having them take over from infancy or by implying their original memories and mind still exist but are mixed with their past memories. It's a small detail but it has big impact on the character's overall setting.
