Yeah one doesn't really lose knowledge although her memory would have been a little rusty. It's also a weird plot point cause she was intelligent then suddenly goes dumb during her fianced to prince, would be a little suspect is all.
People around her could've attributed it to teenage years and her acting like a jerk to other people would be more noticeable than her grades slowly slipping towards the bottom. Would've been nice if we had some scenes of her reading/studying spirits specifically when she was still engaged to make it more of a "don't try on tests and act dumb but still studying on her own because she enjoys learning". The sudden turnaround in all subjects is quite a big jump

He should have dragged her to the teachers and have her spit everything out so Brigitte could retake the exam.
That would be great, except there's no evidence that's what happened, the supposed victim had a reputation of being a moron, and it ends up being the word of a duke who heard what happened secondhand against someone who is
twisting a prince around her little finger.

Attempting to press the issue here would have unpredictable consequences. Even attempting a retest would be doubting someone of high standing. It might be unsatisfying, but right now the perpetrator has been cowed, the protagonist has still come out having higher test scores than the woman who is supposed to be smarter than her, and the bet has come out as a draw due to foul play (it would have been a draw anyways). The scores she got even with the foul play were still exemplary and she can absolutely smash the next tests.

And come on, you know that she's going to do something more stupid in the future that ultimately fails and can be traced back to her finally and we can all have our moment of true catharsis. That's how these stories go.

Reputation aside Brigitte acing every test besides that last one should be suspicious alone.
And of course Lisa will continue doing stupid things and eventually get what she deserves, however this chapter wasn't that and my reaction was regarding the first post "That was satisfying", that I absolutely can't agree with.

Yup, her acing the test will be seen as suspicious but the teachers won't say anything because it will hurt their pride. If you set up a anti-cheat system and your student who is supposed to be dumb manages to do so anyway, it's not going to look good on you. Which is also part of the reason why Brigitte didn't complain about it. She would be inadvertently telling the teachers their system is weak (which it is, if a spirt can be seen like that the teachers should be watching more carefully) if she openly complained and that could end up having problems for her.

Honestly, what happened was the most satisfactory conclusion that could reasonably happen. She could go to her manipulative prince if she wishes but Yuri isn't least bit afraid of him and I'm sure her score pissed the Prince off.

why? its not weird, 1 of 6 subjects was bad = She is very bad in this subject.
She is number 30, with 62 points from 600
I imagine what they mean is that a student who most people should be familiar with and know does very poorly suddenly gets 100 in 5 out of 6 subjects? That's probably going to raise some alarm bells that Bridgette is cheating (even though we the audience know she didn't, that's not how it'd look to most people). If she raised a huge stink about how someone was able to get past the anti-cheat measures and sabotage her? It'd raise questions if she too was able to get past the anti-cheat measures to get 100s in those first 5 subjects.

So what? She's twisting a prince around her little finger. (For all we know at least. That guy is either a complete moron or a manipulative control freak. Not sure yet.)
Huh no she's not, the Prince is doing to her what he did to FMC and being an abusive controller. How did you miss that? Did you forget he's the one who told her to do the things?

That exam sabotage genuinely made me want to scream but I'm so glad she managed to get a great score, and most importantly he believed her (i want badly to believe the teachers would but... Looking at what the poor mc has been through this entire time it seems pretty slim.)

I hope they DO manage to report this and get her scores adjusted at some point though but I expect the story is going to take a while to reach the "mcs finally get justice for all the suffering they've been put through" arcs.

Very formulaic. I was expecting the prince to be a 2-bit scumbag, but Yuri is the most clichéd shoujo love interest. If you ignore his sparkly aura, he's an insufferable prick. Nothing about this bet or him talking to Bridgette felt natural. He really saw Bridgitte as dumb, expected her to fail miserably when they started, and planned to rub her nose in the dirt for not acknowledging that he was above her. That's pretty terrible.

I didn't miss anything (as you would know if you read the part in brackets that you quoted). I'm applying Hanlon's Razor.

I like the WN version more.

Yes, the teacher’s response is extreme, but he also got problem of his own life that makes him not really the best character.

This felt to direct.

Yuri’s reaction in the WN also better. He still told Lisa to keep her hands off Bridgette, but without the need to explain more.

She doesn’t. She scored bad on purpose so she can be that image of “stupid girl” her fiancé likes. She’s still who she is.
He also knew she’s smart. That’s why he told her to be stupid girl, because he need her to be inferior. That prince got terrible case of inferiority complex to everyone, his family, Yuri, Bridgette.

The change probably because the situation in the WN is also forcing it.
The exam got rule that you can't borrow stationery during the test, and the campus' store is closed. Bridgette doesn't have any friend who can lend her a pen anyway, so her only choice is to write down the answers with blood.

Other teachers are cool with it and grade her accordingly.
But that one teacher just went to rage and starts gossiping about it to all classes, so pretty much everyone know Bridgette got 0 in that test by disqualification and she still ends up in rank 30 out of 100.

Part 2 of the WN. No idea how many is covered by each volume of the LN. Hasn't got time to finish the part 4.

Long spoiler below.
The 3rd Prince is burdened because he was born into a prestigious royal family without enough ability to back that reputation. He managed to make contract with two spirits, but unlike Yuri, his are just low level spirits. People also keep comparing him with his brothers (who never even got mentioned by name in the story). He tried to put an act, although people still think it's fake because he got no power.

Bridgette changed his life. He was just curious about this girl who is even more pathetic than he is. A girl born into one of the four prestigious nobilities, but only managed to make contract with nameless spirit, and got her hand burned by her own father, then chased out of the main house. Bridgette loves him and will do anything he says. People also think better of him now for being a kind prince who showed mercy to that worthless girl.

But it really change as he knew Bridgette more. He found out she's actually very smart. As eldest daughter of the Earl of Fire's house, she will be sent to the Royal Academy. It's not a matter of choice, it will smear the family reputation if the parents deny her from attending. When that day come, people will find out Bridgette is actually smart and superior to her fiance, making him pathetic again. This is why he told Bridgette to pretend stupid and arrogant, so he will always be better.
The last straw is when he found out, her contracted spirit is the legendary Phoenix. The spirit stay asleep all the time as even with Bridgette talent, it's still too powerful for her. It's why the spirit got misidentified as nameless and never answer her call. That's it, when the world founds out, Bridgette will become famous, while everyone see him as inferior. He start to look for another choice, another stupid girl.

Lisa still can't accept Bridgette's achievement. In the next test (searching for spirit stones in forest), the Prince provoked her to attack and burn Bridgette. The attempt failed. Lisa tried to accuse Bridgette, by burning her own hand. But Undine, Yuri's spirit, stand as witness. Lisa locked herself in her bedroom since that day.

Joseph had enough with Lisa too. Bridgette is daughter of a famous family. Even if practically disowned, she's still educated in manners. Bridgette's haughty act only hurts her own reputation, while giving the Prince a good reputation for being kind even to that kind of fiance.
Lisa in the other hand, is from the lowest rank of nobility. She shamelessly flirt with him in public and talk like her words are Joseph's. Fancying her demand will just ruin his own reputation, so he keep avoiding to announce engagement to Lisa. But the girl is too persistent. He need to dispose her.

Joseph came to offer another engagement with Bridgette, thinking she will gladly accept it. But Bridgette straightly refuse him in front of the other students, saying she already got another man she loves (and pulled Yuri out with her).

In the next part, the Church became interested because there's news about Bridgette's "nameless" managed to neutralize a raging Aerial (wind spirit, not Gundam). There's also accounts about pillar of light from her mansion (when she managed to call her contracted spirit out). They took chance in a scheduled review, where staff from the church are interviewing the students about relationship with their spirit, to get to see her closer without making it look like special investigation. Bridgette, after overcoming her trauma of fire, managed to summon her spirit, who shows up as a tiny fluffball chickling who is really afraid of Kira (her family is poor, so she often told that bird about how she likes to eat chicken, fat chicken).

Joseph, colluded with the botany teacher to lock Bridgette. He plan on using a magic item that can sever contract. It's used by the church to help people who inadvertently contracted harmful spirit, and the use is very restricted because no spirits would want to make another contract with people touched by that. He thought, everyone including Yuri likes Bridgette because she has a powerful spirit. If she lost that, then she will return into the pathetic girl who can only depend on Joseph.

The attempt failed, so Joseph had enough and plan on double suicide. Bridgette's spirit saved them, and one of Joseph's spirit use the magic item to sever its contract because it had enough with Joseph's behaviour. Their kingdom revere the spirits, so having a spirit go as far as "divorcing" their contract means that person must have been really horrible.
Other than the assault and arson, Joseph is also apprehended for illegally using items that shouldn't be brought out of the church. The bishop who helped him (the priest who misidentified Bridgitte's spirit as "nameless" years ago), and the botany teacher, are also apprehended.

By the way, anyone going to get the author's new title? The novel is illustrated by raemz.
