I know it wouldn't happen, and it would be more pointless melodrama than anything really compelling--but Yuri accepting this random girl's invitation because the MC didn't ask him first would be funny to watch unfold from the MC & her friends' perspectives and how she subsequently twists herself in knots trying to prove she's not jealous or heartbroken.Hopefully this actually pushes her to be proactive. This dancing-around-her-feelings business gets very tiresome very quickly when it's clear what everyone's feelings are (including to everyone surrounding them both), and even if Yuri has things he's keeping back, the risk:reward ratio is way too favorable for the MC to not take a chance on going after him.

Beyond that - I would guess that her hesitation toward her father's "offer" to return to the family stems from the fact that a part of her actually does seek her family's approval. It's a relatable theme, even when someone's been abused, to seek validation from the people abusing them, particularly when everyone involved is related. But she's gone through a number of incidents that should have seen her grow a bit as a person, so hopefully she actually stands up for herself in the face of her father's clear selfish desire to control her & her spirit contract.

Really, I just hope the MC continues finding her spine and gains more agency over her life. And, that she actually acts on her desires for once, where Yuri's concerned.

I don't like this chapter. For many reason.
1. The fact that our heroine doesn't immediately reject her father.
2. Why the hell is she hesitant.
3. The entire chp asides from the first 9 pages is relevant to the plot, she was trying to think of why she was so hesitant and rather explore that reasoning, the rest of the chp devolves to OwO cuties fun time, ARE YOU IN LOVE!? HEHE. Completely ruining the flow of tension.

I hope she really lays it onto her shit father.

I’m calling it now, in the next few chapters Brigitte’s father is definitely gonna force her to come back home, even after she rejects him in the next chapter. I’ve seen this kind of plot way too many times already, hoooh She gets forced back, then Yuri shows up and saves her again. and on the last page, I’m pretty sure Yuri is gonna say something like, “Sorry, I’ve already fallen in love with someone else,” in the next chapter.

Actually it makes complete sense for a few reasons....the first being that at the end of the day....she still wants acknowledgment from her father...yes he is awful, but she basically spent her whole life trying to make him and her family proud...so while she will obviously say no....her hesitance makes SOME sense. The second reason is that this worlds politics seems....kind of weird, seems like because he offered her a chance to come back he can flip the narrative of him banishing her to "i offered to reconcile my mistake, but she blatantly rebelled against me and was disrespectful". This is really a combination of dealing with emotional trauma, and playing chess instead of checkers to avoid being slandered even further than she already was

Forced back home could happen but if anything Bridgette is probably willingly going to go crawling back to try and talk to him or "understand" why the father was doing whatever he did.

I mentioned it in the last chapter as well, she's probably going to end up apologizing to him instead because after all "he's still family" and she will try to settle everything because she's a goody two shoes FL who can't have a single negative emotion even after obviously being treated like trash by others and the dreaded "what will society say" tropes.

And her father will probably lock her up to steal her sprite and as you said cue perfect male lead to come swooping in to save the helpless woman again.

It's painfully predictive..

I really hate that you are probably right. If she forgives her father for his transgressions, I'm dropping this.
At some point there is such a thing as going too far. Her father never apologized, only that she demanded her to come back.
She even stated she resolved herself to live by herself once she graduated.

I'd just wish she'd tell her father off say something like:
"No, I will not rejoin the family. Why? You never apologized, you only wanted me to raise your own status, and when I didn't show results you burned me but also withdrawn your families love from me. And when it was convenient that I somehow summoned my familiar you then demanded me to come back. You never cared about me, you only cared for your own status, had I never summon this phoenix, would you have cared at all?"
