Accept you will be poor and live hard days with no rewards.what the fuck is wrong with that teacher
That's the key words "over generations" and "innate ability". To move to better standing it takes several generation means what the class show is true cause they are in one generation they can't move social class. Abilities are based on luck like the lottery draw for cookies and where they sit, it's like that story from the bible about talents. Thus the teacher is not retarded as you say, in fact you just reinforced that her teaching is valuable and hit some truthsTeacher is retarded.
There's no way to move between social classes in her example (very frequent).
While I won't say social disparities do nothing (being broke and going to some inner city school will definitely give you worse outcomes than a quality private school), innate ability also plays a huge factor.
We're not the tabula rasa. Over generations the wax hardens, and clear grooves, bumps, and scratches form. You can deepen them, and you can make new shallow ones, but what's originally on it can still be seen and felt.
I have a family member who used to do admin for a school for rich kids – they had a tale about exactly that. A first-year teacher gave a lesson like the above, and within the week complaints were coming in.Huh, kinda wish I'd gotten a lesson like that in school.
Surprising that happened in a school for rich kids in the first place. You'd think the parents might complain about teaching their children to empathize with "the lower classes".
I guess you could also see it in a way that because you have all the biscuits, you gotta ensure you have the knowledge, wisdom, and power to not get the people who don’t get biscuits envy your wealth.Huh, kinda wish I'd gotten a lesson like that in school.
