just my opinion but: this series might be the only one where I don't like having a serious plot. Not only because the plot is taking away all the yuri time, but also because the plot doesn't interest me at all (also, I keep fearing that the series will be axed or end too soon, and the plot will be rushed without having a satisfying end).

Technically speaking the series already got axed before, which is also why the time between volume 4 and 5 was so long.
Despite that they switched to a different publisher but the series is only released digitally now.

Second, how official are they, as in do they both think themself together as an couple already or not, it kinda confuses me, excuse my inability to read into lines too much I know they both are so into each other, and hinata probably realized that too (Chapter 23 and 24) but what about Naori? She seems to not realize it fully yet but i dont knoooww.....

FINALY some one brough it up! i was about to do just that! is the romance even progressing at all? besides i HATE the idea of “reading between the lines” when some one tries to hard to pretend that is legit when in most cases we need solid confirmation! ESPECIALY YURI!!! there has been quite a few series were we go 0 romance and they were platonic as hell but for some reason the yuri tag was there!

Evidence: They sleep in the same bed, in a "love nest", match each other like pair glasses, nearly kissed onscreen, agreed to be together for a single purpose. Hinata is obvious about romance, and Naori doesn't mind when others see them as a couple.

Roommates. This manga won't shy away from showing kissing or long-term commitment. To be fair, for secondary characters or a more chaste/censored story the evidence would be enough to say they're basically married. Naori's lack of awareness or acknowledgement of situations is inconsistent and sometimes annoying imo, but she has some self-esteem issues (last chapter rules out comphet). Hinata knows it's fully mutual attraction since the near-kiss incident at the latest, but Naori has to clearly express herself when not blackout drunk for things to progress.

what you are doing is hardcore projecting, because i can do the same an say they are just really close friends and won’t change anything! unless they EXPLICITLY say they are together i only see the dumb “it’s implied they are together” we don’t have that issue with Hetero couple ao WAY in hell do we need this wishy washy idea of “implied”??? WAY NOT straight up SAY IT!

this seemns to be an Asian thing when it comes to LGBT couple, walk around the subject and leave it to “it’s implied” while making it VERY clear when hetero couple are on display that THEY ARE together!

I don’t say all Yuri stories are like that! but for fucks sakes i notice it ONLY happens in Yuri

Also I’m not saying this story doesn’t end in Yuri because we don’t have them in an romantic relationship, i can take slow burn and I like it too! for now they are building their relationship and from the looks of it Hinata is already doing that.

unless grandpa is an 4 eyes monster? the eyes on the mask i first though they were part of the mask UNTILL they start moving!!! so unless you make it to be an magic mask i think that masked person is an monster

I wrote roommates. I guess I needed an explicit "despite the couple things played as a joke earlier" disclaimer for the slow progress? Not that you don't bring up some meaningful things, but you're barely replying to what I said.

If you're bothered by empty implications, things greatly improved this volume. The past few chapters showed a physical wlw relationship and Hinata brought up homosexuality. That's calling a shot and backing up the constant duo subtext. The status quo would be similar after relationships being called out during a het slowburn romance. No double standards.

The romance is still ambiguous so semantics is a losing game. A lot of descriptions fit, especially "bartender". Don't take the "they were roommates" historian meme seriously here; it's literally and metaphorically accurate, and equally inadequate.

Hinata=down bad. For Naori it's not as much about not realizing it. She has some self worth issues that hold her back from believing she measures up with Hinata. Add on that Hinata is basically a princess and Naori's self worth issues compound even more.

Some of Naori's push to help Hinata (& the oni) is to prove to herself that she's worthy of Hinata. I think she'll have to get over that stuff first. In the meantime they're basically already a couple (and everyone treats them as such) but haven't sat down to discuss what they are yet.

Hinata seems to recognize Naori's issues, shows patience and tries to help. But it's clear Naori feels strongly for Hinata and thinks of her romantically (like this chapter's gazing into Hinata's eyes, or accepting the couple's glasses when she had the chance to change them, holding hands while Hinata was sick, etc. etc.).

Apparently that's a type of yokai, but I've had no luck finding info on what they're called. There's another manga I saw a character like that in where a high school girl ends up in a fantasy world and is bought by said character. In his case his mask only has one eye, but it also changes expression and the eyeball moves around.

The clerk's expression in the last panel below makes me think she's starting to wonder if maybe dating girls might be something fun to try herself.
