This is another reason I like this manga, not only is the development of the relationship realistic but the characters aren't spiteful or needlessly, childishly dramatic. Even though Honoka "lost" she's still good friends with both Alice and the protag, it's really heartwarming to see IMO.

In my opinion this confession and rejection added nothing to the story. IF at least, was before the main couple got "together" and she didn't know then it would be alright. Kinda tired of this trope of having to confess no matter what even if it's hopeless.
