If the swap happened when both Marikas were kids, I guess the boyfriend had to be a childhood friend or something or else it would make no sense that he would feel something off about yuri-Marika compared to straight-Marika because he never would've known straight-Marika to compare their different behavior in the first place. Guess we'll never know because they didn't actually bother to describe or flesh out the boyfriend at all despite trying to use him for some cheap drama at the very end only to resolve it in the next page instead of leaving it for an epilogue chapter or something.

Basically, MC Marika was born in yuri world, mysteriously ended up in het world due to all that experimental stuff, and just as mysteriously ended up in yuri world at start of the story.
OtherMarika was born in het world, mysteriously ended up in yuri world, and eventually made her way back to het world, sending MC Marika to yuri world in the process.
Although the moment of the initial switch is unknown, boyfriend in het world fell for OtherMarika, hence why things didn't go well with MC Marika, and it is implied MC Marika was the one Lily met as a child.
Other than that, it's just a simple case of Marika doing the things she said she was gonna do. Go back to the het world, make her peace there, and return to yuri world to give Lily her answer (as well as give Mei closure on her onee-chan).

I'm gonna be nice this time and say for a manga that seemingly got axed and had to quickly pack it in, they stuck the landing considering. Rushed/axed endings never feel good, but this went as smoothly as one of those could go. The author is talented at the very least at broad strokes.

That's what bothers me too. Before this it was a very simple timeline:
•MC is born in yuri-world, alt-MC is born in normal-world.
•MC and alt-MC are switched at a young age and grow up in the wrong worlds, hence them originally being unaware
•MC tries to get a boyfriend to be normal but it never clicks
•Alt-MC realizes she's in the wrong world and goes back, switching MC as well in the process, so both are now back in their original worlds
•Manga happens

But now, with the boyfriend apparently knowing and having fallen in love with alt-MC rather than MC, that timeline doesn't work. The original swap can't have been late enough for boyfriend-kun to have already fallen for alt-MC, since that would make MC's ignorance impossible. But alt-MC also can't have been in normal-world at the same time as MC, before the swap that started the manga, for a huge number of reasons.

@anon763 @AWildDUK If they hadn't done the swapping as a literal physical move it could be explained as Normal-Marika (stuck in Yuri world) trying out her psychic powers gradually, basically only taking partial control of Yuri-Marika and making the boyfriend thing happen before she did the full swap. That way both versions would know about the boyfriend, but Yuri-Marika wouldn't feel comfortable with him (because she's not straight) and he would recognize something was weird about her. But pages 27 - 30 make it clear the swap is a physical one as Yuri-Marika disappears in front of Lily, so that explanation can't work.

I may use it as my head-canon anyway.

Edit: Oh, what if Normal-Marika had to experiment with the drug until she got the dosage right. She was only able to take partial mental control over Yuri-Marika until she got the right dosage, and made the boyfriend thing happen during that?

It's obvious that it was axed considering that was way WAY too rushed. With how short the chapters were, this could've easily been another 2-3 chapters with better pacing. Oh well, not every manga gets the ending it deserves.

Sad since the characters clearly had more going on, but at least everything ended well.
