Fantasy or not I can't a story serious to have a normal 8 year old because he is just normal kid chop down grown ass fighting men.
Same as those baby in the cradle doing magic and other adult stuff.

This pacing is kinda odd. It just jumps here and there without giving the character full development.... it's like several skips

Kid could conquer the whole of the North just by using his eyebrows alone....

That sword is badly designed, and that downward slash isn't a sword technique. Strictly vertical slashes aren't used, they can't be thrown from any proper guards and are hard to power.
