Author doesn't suck, it's just super slow (but it's intended that way). Also, for love triangles you need 3 characters and so far the girls are somewhat competing with each other while MC barely even cares, lol. I mean, he seems to notice Amano more lately but that's about it. His focus is 100% on getting into Tokyo U and tbh, it would be a bad writing to start serious romance plot now.
At this point, any serious romance development would feel weird considering the pace of this manga.

I’ve never liked Amano as a character. She seems uninteresting. I don’t see her personal struggle with anything, other than exposed undergarment. I only catch up to the series due to the introduction of new characters, but this is just a foregone conclusion story, which makes it more painful to continue reading. The new character will lose, and her childhood friend, who’s also not a bad character, would get his price. I can see the plot in my head already. I just feel bad for the new character, she’s more interesting but she’s condemned to failure. Reminds me of Yuigahama in OreGairu. At least that series isn’t all about romance.

I'm going to pretend from now that the previous 200 chapters never existed and this series started when Amano went to live with Manabu and the that I appeared. Maybe this way the pacing will be more tolerable.

I think this new character is interesting but all 3 letting their lives take control of their path(which is perfectly normal and even smart AF) instead of romance makes it very hard to decide who to route for(even though amano win is guaranteed) This whole thing could basically end with even one of the 2(MCs) confessing right now! Afterwards the author can just concentrate on their uni lives as a couple which will be even better in my opinion cause right now it’s getting stale! Him studying or hanging out, amano school or hanging out, Gal studying or hanging out! I don’t think this is a typical case of authors running into a wall after MCs hook up, I think it works better at this rate

Anybody get the feeling that Manabu already knows, at least subconsciously, that Plot Device-chan didn't write that message on his eraser? It doesn't even seem like he's using her for motivation to get into Tokyo U. like in the earlier chapters, it's like all Megumi with her kendo club now.

@Blazer168 well this was just updated at the front page. wanted to see what it was all about. Can't say I'm a big fan of rom coms that feels like filler. Big emphasis on "feels like" not stating that it is filler. (my replies are late because the layout of this website makes it feel like a chore to reply to someone. So annoying)
