@kuma @MessiahPrinny The description, as well as the first couple of chapters, say that this manga is about two characters who have their goals and how they "get closer to each other". However, as the manga goes on, the manga has become a succession of the same joke; girl get's into a provocative scenario, guy see girl in provocative scenario, girl hurts guy regardless if he's to blame or not.
Whenever it's not doing that, the manga tries to do these stories with the kendo club members. I wouldn't mind so much if the club members are interesting but they aren't. Outside of their one-note personalities, they exist to enter half-baked romances that don't get enough screen time to warrant a reaction from me and/or provide more fanservice moments. I'm not anti-fanservice, I'm just saying that the it all starts to feel like a cheap way of distracting from the fact that nothing has really happened.
Because that's my main issue when it comes down to it, the pacing in this manga is not slow, it's practically inert. So many chapters have gone by with practically no development with the main characters, their goals, or their relationship. There was even a mini arc dedicated to a school trip which took 8 chapters to basically say "Nothing will happen regarding the main characters until near the story's end, if we actually go through with it". Even if you go with the "It's a slice of life shounen. What did you expect?" even other manga like this does different things and looks into the dynamics/relationships with its cast more often or at the very least not repeat the same "misunderstood for a pervert" joke 100+ times. Lack of progress may not indicate lack of quality, pre-se, but repetitiveness can lead to that.
Don't get me wrong, in spite of what my lengthy rant may imply otherwise, I still find some joy from reading this, due to me liking the two leads. I'm also not saying that anyone who doesn't mind the lack of progress or don't even see it as a flaw are wrong for enjoying aspects of the manga that I find annoying. It's just my original comment was me expressing relief over the manga showing some signs of progress after so much nothing that's happened for a majority of the story.
