Ah yes, the besties-to-lovers‘ “first date” that’s effectively identical to their typcial one-on-one hangouts from before, with one or both of them questioning if it was actually a real date. And yes, yes it is. So long as all parties enjoy themselves, there are no hard rules for hangouts or dates, the only noteworthy difference between the two is whether you’re friends or romantic partners.
I get where Kanon is coming from. I said this a few updates back, whether it‘s one-on-one, or in a group, Saki seems to always go along with what other people want to do, and that it’s hard to think of any occasion where she invites others to do what she wants to do. Kanon’s usually the one taking the initiative between the two of them, so she wants to prioritise Saki more, which I get and encourage. However, I see Saki’s answer as perfectly valid. If it’s a date with Kanon, it’s just as important to her that Kanon enjoys herself, too. After all, if you asked me to make a list of the things Saki likes, right now, most of the list would be about, or involve, Kanon, with the top two spots being something like “Kanon’s smile” and “kissing Kanon”.
