As problematic as this coupling is gonna be, it also just makes sense. Yeah they really shouldn’t, considering they committed adultery with each other at one point, but it’s their life and their choice. 🤷

And they also are just sweet with each other. They do go well with one another.

I really like how the author created two realistic, imperfect characters. They're both in an unhappy marriage where both parties keep trying, communicating and putting in effort (to some extent) only to realise that in the end their wants are too different.

A lot of readers will demonize them for committinf adultery, which is fair. To me, it only shows that every individual relationship is different and that adultery, being ofcourse the ultimate betrayal of trust, isn't always black and white or an 'easy out'. You can't help but not blame them, even though it completely destroys their current relationship. Very well written and a lovely portrayal of realistic, human characters.

As far as committing adultery, their offense was somewhat minor. Both were already emotionally distant from their spouses. They met to confide in each other, not to form a romantic relationship. When they began to realize it was becoming romantic, they backed off.

I don't think that she should blame herself for "backing him into the corner" with wanting kids - if you have this kind of conversation and you secretly don't want kids, then the mature, and right thing to do would be to break up, because at this point you are clearly looking for something else. If you hide it and keep going, hoping beyond hope that a partner wanting kids will suddenly change her mind, and pile up even more issues on top along the way, you will end up in this kind of situation - where the relationship was over long before the manga even started.

This series probably has such a low rating because of how real it is and how the characters aren't just black and white.

"Cheating is good" is definitely not the lesson I learned here. It's nuanced in the sense that not everyone can and will do the things we as audiences want them to do, like couple's therapy or even just talking it out.

Remember Homies.. no matter the reasons or problems, cheating is never morally right. If you're having issues with your partner, it's better to end the relationship immediately, so you can move on and do whatever you want. It’s as simple as that.

I'd say there's the possibility of trying to work out the issues after you discover them. But yeah, end the relationship before cheating or when you realise the issues are to big to work out.
