Who cares if this is a prequel or not? I'm more concerned about the fact that it's been years since we last got new chapters for the manga or the doujin.
It's not like we're ever going to get anything from this series other than merch like figurines and mousepads (idc about the new artbook). Pochi WILL continue to squeeze the toothpaste and you WILL like it.

TLDR: This is an unpopular genre, and I'm sure Pochi won't be returning to the series anytime soon now that she's found more profitable avenues like vtubing and whatever else she's been doing these past few years. It's best to forget about this and come back in a couple of years or so. Or better still, don't come back at all!
