Kind of annoying but not surprising they didn't officially get together. Atleast they confirmed their feelings and understandable he wants to focus on his exams before committing to a relationship, but wish this wasn't how every MC ever went about it.

Not the ideal conclusion to last chapter but i'm fine with this for now. Depends how long the author delays them actually getting together. I do agree with the others, this is a very tired trope

On one hand, this is better than the typical of this tripe where they ended up not sure what the other is feeling, and this is soooo these two adorkable couple (and the fact Hiichan was ready for a kiss but Akkun just didn’t notice it till the end with his head down & eyes closed), but on the other hand, goddamn it, this again!

This is where the mangaka's absolute lack of relationship experience shines the brightest. What is even "committing to a relationship?" suppose to be? Is she gonna go "Now we are dating, you better free your 8am-5pm slot every day. I will keep attendance"? There is no need for absurd headcannon explanations. Author needs money. Story needs more chapters and 90% of shounen romcom writers literally can not write anything post confession.
You would never hear such a stupid shit from Marin or Gojo.

Nuh, bro if you commit in relationship, you gotta give them attention and importance and most importantly, if you make gf right before exams, your head will be filled with your gf all the freaking time as it is the start of the relationship and considering this is their first relationship, their minds will surely be and since Hii chan is fine with it, then its good
There are some pretty good post-confession manga, too, you know. You're just looking in the wrong pile of genre; look in the seinen or seijo sections. Also, that's what works for most shonen, that's also exactly why they're very recurrent, since, as annoying as it is to adults, those who actually bought the product with money proven it keeps selling, so yeah.
