I want to just harp on what I ranted about in the comments for the previous section... The dialogue very clearly gets at this idea of the text trying to get at this idea of communication. Because it's a lack of communication that causes all of the things that happen to Kitano. They run, they scream, the fight. And in the text it's Kitano's unwillingness to just accept these things purely for what they are, or more accurately for the theming the unwillingness to not communicate, that lead to the way the narrative happens. People run from him and he chases them, people scream at him and he "screams" back, people fight with him and he "fights" back. Everyone judges people in such a way holds back their feelings and fails to communicate directly. And this story is getting at the ideas behind why these things happen. Prejudice and desire. Pleass have some deeper narrative understanding. If something gets you mad about a story, especially a story you like otherwise, think about if the author intended to make you angry. If you think they didn't, examine why you got mad. In this case it's not entirely wrong to get angry, but it shouldn't be because "Kitano took a beating" it should be "These people never learn to communicate properly". Rant over.
