I mean, it's not just about Leon here, they are all quite a bit different.
Maybe except for the stooges, but I dunno enough yet.

TBH, in the main timeline, the OG main character (Olivia) was never very interesting to me. All she has is big boobs and the usual "good girl" character traits.

So I like this pairing better!

I somewhat agree, though the theme and what she said was pretty interesting when she's down after the bullying.

Just in case the manga didn't show it or didn't show it well enough, it might be worth reading chapter 21-22, and chapter 24 in the original manga just to get a better view.

You can just skim through chapter 21 for scenes where the heroines appear.

How is Olivia in such a bad state if in the game OG setting she's having a blast during summertime... Sure some things are taken by our MC & Mob bro, but for the main story to deviate this much is pretty crazy

Maybe because she's a normal girl than a game character, but I agree that it'd be really odd for a huge change from the OG setting especially if we take it at face value that the OG setting is possible to achieve when Leon / Marie doesn't exist, so I'm not entirely in agreement with that reasoning.

I'd wager the biggest factor that isn't considered by people is that even though Leon / Marie is trying to lay low, they actually did change the plot progression unknowingly which basically made it deviate from the main game OG storyline. The biggest being them interrupting Angie's confrontation on the Gala with their banter, another is Leon unknowingly attracting both Olivia and the 5-capture target's attention due to his actions on saving Marie. Then there's Marie's efforts to court the 5 idiots, which pulls Stephanie's wrath onto her instead and causing the whole Sky Pirate scenario that Leon got roped into.

It'd be like a Steins Gate scenario where little changes can create a butterfly effect that completely deviates from the original game's plot. It'd be curious to see how the actual game plot would play if we completely removed Leon and Marie from the equation and play it straight how the OG game setting ends, but I'd guess people wouldn't really want that since the MCs aren't there anymore.

Such a nice relaxing not-finance introduction. They really do flow together well (I think it helps they can only absolutely be candid in front of each other with their knowledge of the game events).

Rie's explosion at remembering all the fun events then followed by what the time the game wasn't following is great.

Marie and Leon genuinely thinking the best thing they can do for Olivia's happiness and the world's safety is stay far away is such a speeding towards disaster vibe.
