Chapter 36: The True Nature of the Drug
At the inn.
Alice: Master, Lady Claudia, I have brought your tea.
Claudia is hugging Washio, who is sitting down, holding him tightly with her breasts pressing against his face.
Washio: Mmm... mgmm... mmm... Claudia... Mmm... mgmm... mmm...You should back off now.
Claudia: You might run off somewhere again, so I’m not letting go.
Alice: It's hard to have a serious conversation like this, so please step back.
Claudia: No waaay!
Claudia tells Washio what happened, with part of the conversation skipped (not shown).
Washio: My background check was forged!?!?
Claudia: That’s not all! He tried to inject me with some drug... and my head was fuzzy... that guy is scary.
Washio realizes what is happening, tries to run back to the academy, but his back starts to hurt and he falls to the ground.
Washio: It can’t be...!!!
Washio: Ah... My back...
Claudia: I’m sorry, did I hug you too tightly? I’ll carry you to the academy.
Alice: I’ll take you there.
Alice princess-carries Washio and tells Claudia to hold on to her.
Alice: Please move your arm, Master.
Alice: Lady Claudia, please get on as well.
Alice activates the boosters on her legs and flies off with Washio and Claudia.
Alice: Destination: Academy. Checking the shortest route. Arrival in 30 minutes. Engine at full power. Prepare for impact.
Washio: This... Ah...
While in the air, Washio speaks to Claudia and Alice.
Washio: Professor Julius's true objective is is to activate the Monster Factor of you monster girls.
Alice: Monster Factor... It’s a word that doesn’t exist in my database, Master. I request an explanation.
Washio: The Monster Factor is something that separates regular organisms from monsters. Well, it’s kind of like a switch. When the Monster Factor is absorbed in a certain amount by an organism's body, it causes dramatic changes in the body structure and uncontrollable aggression is unleashed. This is what’s known as monsterization.
Claudia: What!?!?!?! So, if I get injected with that...
Washio: It’s unlikely that a monster girl would undergo re-monsterization, but if the factor is activated, there’s a high possibility that aggression will become uncontrollable.
Washio: The person entrusted with the management of that in the research facility was one of the highest-ranking wizards in the kingdom. Silver Crow, Julius Specter.
Washio: A man named Julius, involved with the Monster Factor Activation Drug... I can't believe it's a coincidence. I’m sorry. I should have noticed sooner. No, maybe I was pretending not to notice.
Claudia: Could that research facility... possibly be ours?
Washio: Ah, I had closed off those memories to protect my own heart. There's no way this name wouldn't catch my attention, yet I was running away from it. A past I can't run away frooOOOM...
Alice: I’m sorry, but there are curves ahead.
Washio: W-Wait... H-Hold on... …Ah, I think I’m gonna throw up.
Claudia: Eh!?!?! No!! Don’t!!! Sensei, hold it in!
At the academy, Aria and Frederick are talking with Drako.
Aria: Oh, Drako... Please, today at last, tell me your true objective.
Frederick: Are you an enemy? Or a friend?
Drako: You're so damn noisy—I told you to stay out of it, didn't I?
Aria and Drako look up at the sky after hearing Washio call out to Drako.
Washio: Draaakoooo!
Washio: Drako! Are you okay!?!
Washio grabs Drako's hand and tries to pull her along with him.
Washio: Drako! We have to run! Professor Julius's objective… is you all!
Drako: No, I’m fine, really.
Washio: There’s no way I can leave my important student in a dangerous place.
Julius suddenly appears, pulls Drako away from Washio, covers her eyes with one hand, and with the other, injects the drug into her neck using a syringe.
Washio: It can’t be...
Julius: I see... An important student, huh? If Drako has been injected with the Factor Activation Drug multiple times and is already my puppet, would you despair?
Drako: Ahhhhh!
Frederick: What... what happened to her!?
Aria: Frederick, please hurry and call the teachers.
Drako: Aaah... Aaah...
Drako starts to chuckle and removes Julius’s hand from her eyes.
Drako: Just kidding. There's no way a dragon of the strongest species like me would go out of control over something this small.
Drako: The truth is, I wanted to finish everything without you(Washio) noticing, but... I guess it can't be helped now.
Drako turns to Julius, who’s smiling mischievously, and says: "Shall we settle this here?"
Insight: I think the author is going to have to give Drako a pretty solid and compelling reason for acting the way she did and for letting things escalate instead of stopping them.
