Why IS the art direction for the anime so freaking good? I know the most obvious answer is "Studio Sunrise lol" but why is Sunrise wasting their time with a mediocre isekai? I like what little I've seen of "Not Deedlit and Pirotess" so far, but the rest of the framing of the story is just completely forgettable.
Art direction for Assassin is totally the director's decision, per this interview.
Also, this mediocre Isekai sells pretty well. The 1st 4 books have sold over 1.6 million copies so far as of Aug 2025.
