And people still believe in the rumours of the prison experiment.
It's been debunked.
The "results" did NOT indicate what people think, and the methodology was flawed (sub-teachers were put in the "warden" group, and were steering the actions of that group, etc.).
Anyone really interested can also look up the raw data. It's long enough ago, so all of that is in public domain now.
Turns out most humans are NICE, and want to do good.
There are always some evil/psychopathic/sociopathic/whatever individuals, but most people are good.
OH! If you people are interested, read "Humankind" by Rutger Bregman (Dutch historian, used to be known mostly for holding a presentation at Davos, where he diverged from what he was supposed to talk about, in order to tell the rich and powerful that they should carry their parts of the load to make our world a decent place). The book tells us the truth about all of these things we think show mankind is bad. It turns out we are kind people who want to do good. One chapter per rumoured "proof" that we are bad. All are debunked. Super hopeful reading. Really recommend it.
And if anyone has one or more of those uncles past 50 who are spiraling into darkness? It's even better for those guys. It removes all of those "proofs" they spew out about us humans being bad creatures.
And yes, for doubters, this guy is a researcher, so he provides links and references to everything he has found. So you can verify it all by yourselves!
Enjoy!
