By the numbers, it is and should be formulaic, but ... somehow a MC with significant training, multiple interested girls, and martial prowess is focused on almost entirely as a guy who just wants this crazy bitch to quit being in his life. It's honestly so refreshing.

I hope he ends up with Amane. She's already not just a poor widdle woobie by Chapter 14, and it's not like Rua's growing up any time soon.

Like others have said, the childhood friend is legitimately the most interesting girl here by far and carries the story imo. I don't expect her to have a proper growth/redemption arc to fix her relationship with the MC and get together with him because... well, look at the level of shit she's pulled. And also because I have no trust in authors to actually pull off an interesting twist like that, and fully expect to instead have more and more generic girls added to the harem while the only one with actual potential remains the stupid antagonist moving the plot along.

But hey, last chapters gave me a tiny bit of hope with her trying to do something not completely selfish for once (even if it backfired horribly, that's a learning opportunity). So who knows? Setting aside wherever a character like her is redeemable when she's literally tried to have someone killed already, I'm somewhat invested.
